It’s the best Friday of the year for Pecco Bagnaia, who placed second in the free practice of the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez. For once, the Piedmontese rider starts ahead of teammate Marc Marquez, who experienced a more difficult day and only placed fourth at the end of practice.

“I felt good especially with the average, I was trying different riding things because I am getting used to this year” s bike, said the Ducati centaur.

“We stopped looking for what I was feeling last year because in the end it seems to be hard to find that feeling– continued Bagnaia to Sky– . We are not finding the feeling I had in the entry with the brakes, so we tried to focus more on riding and I must say it went well”.

“I am not so happy with my feeling but I am happy with the result because in the end despite everything I can be fast. We have room for improvement, overall I am satisfied”.

The first day of free practice in Jerez de la Frontera was undoubtedly full of excitement for Alex Marquez, who, despite two crashes, managed to set the track record in pre-qualifying in 1:35.991, ahead of Pecco Bagnaia and Franco Morbidelli. Speaking to the microphones of “Sky Sport MotoGp“, the Gresini team centaur took stock of his Friday free practice.

“I have a small injury to my arm, but it is a normal thing when you fall at high speed, but it is nothing to worry about. I was fast, however I have to learn from the two crashes and be more calm and precise, because we have the pace on this track. In the end I know why I made a mistake, I wanted to go fast right away” began the Spanish centaur.

“I wanted to apologize to the team by going fast and doing things right. I was very focused, I knew what I had to do and when I got back on the track I was happy that I did what I did after the crash” added team Gresini’s number 73.

The Spanish centurion was the first one to say sorry to the team.

“When we came out of the pits I got behind Marc to understand how he does some corners where he goes very fast. I’m referring to the left-hand ones like four, seven and eight. On five I was faster, I just didn&#8217t calculate the distance well and slipped. It’s always nice to see how my brother rides, who is always very precise and doesn”t make mistakes,

Alex Marquez commented.

“Let“Let&#8220s see if we can continue on this path in the coming days. Alex was the strongest on pace and lap in FP1, in the second session he was the strongest on lap because he didn&#8217t make the pace but he had an easy time. After him there are me, Bagnaia and Morbidelli very close”.

Marquez risked a crash during the session: “I saw a piece of carbon, I was out of line, I braked and the bike started, but I expected it”.

Anna Kalinskaya already knows how to do it

Anna Kalinskaya will face U.S. player Madison Keys on Saturday to enter the round of 16 of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid, a feat she has never achieved in her career in the past. The Muscovite tennis player, after overcoming France&#8217s Diane Parry in the first round, faces the top-ranked American, number five in the ATP rankings.

The precedents between the two tennis players are tied, with one win on each side: Kalinskaya won the’last match just a little over twenty days ago in Charleston by quickly imposing herself in two sets. Madison Keys&#8217s victory, on the other hand, dates back three years, when the American overcame the Muscovite in the first round at Roland Garros.

In the event of a win, the Russian, who many believe is no longer engaged to Jannik Sinner, would rise to 26th place in the WTA rankings.
