The name of the first finalist arrives.

Holger Rune will play the final of the Indian Wells tournament. The Dane è earned the final act of the Masters 1000 played on the Californian cement by beating in just over an hour and a half Daniil Medvedev, in a 7-5, 6-4 without argument.

The first possible breakthrough in the match had come in the fifth game of the first set, when Rune snatched service from Medvedev, who was able, però to hit the counterbreak already at 3-3. After an eternal eighth game (as many as 18 points) è it was then the eleventh that proved decisive, with the Dane who è took a further break and è won the set in the next game.

Much easier was Rune’s task in the second set, with the break found as early as the third game in the midst of two service rounds in which Medvedev è failed to score a single point. The Dane leaves the crumbs to his opponent, who is ahead of him in the ATP world rankings, and goes on to win the Indian Wells final.

For Rune, this is the fourth career final in a Masters 1000 on the ATP circuit. He had previously won in Paris-Bercy in 2022 by beating Novak Djokovic and lost twice in 2023, however: in Monte Carlo against Rublev and at the Internazionali d’Italia precisely against Medvedev.

Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo can’t take it anymore: ‘We can’t fight with anyone’

After a weekend and a half of the championship, words of surrender are already coming.

Fabio Quartararo continues to suffer with his Yamaha, and even after the Sprint Race at Termas de Rio Hondo he expressed all his frustration. The Frenchman, who started from the seventh box on the grid, did not è go beyond tenth place at the finish line, losing a 12-second gap to winner Marc Marquez.

“We don&#39t have a chance to fight against anyone – Quartararo complained at the end of the day -.At the beginning I pushed too hard and the result è was that the tire è immediately dropped. On a dry lap the Yamaha is not bad, but we have very little grip. It will be important to understand whyé in long runs we struggle so much”.

There is no shortage of reasons for disappointment for Quartararo, taking into account the fact that after a very difficult 2024 but ended on a crescendo he confirmed his commitment to Yamaha through 2026. The pre-season tests had also seemed promising, defeated by this start of the season.

“Since the beginning of this championship we have always been last. Testing is one thing, but then we get on the track for the race. And when we do, we are always at the back of the pack”, added a discouraged Quartararo.

The triumph comes in front of the home crowd.

The Six Nations 2025 goes to France, thanks to a 35-16 victory at the Stade de France in Paris. The transalpine national team needed to beat their opponents to be certain of winning the tournament, which could still have gone to’England.

A sprint start for France, which on 4′ led 3-0 with Ramos and on 18′ found Moefana’s goal to make it 10-0. It wasn&#39t until 21′ that Scotland got back into the game, thanks to a yellow card for Mauvaka and Russell&#39s accuracy from the pitch.

The game turns on: Ramos signs 13-3, but on 29′ Graham finds the 13-10 goal. France begins to tremble, and in fact Russell brings Scotland back to 13-13. The final half sees both teams try to pull ahead, but the only one to get on the scoreboard è the usual Ramos who makes it 16-13 from the square.

It would look like a very balanced game, but after Bielle-Biarrey’s 23-13 and Russell’s 23-16 è only France. Ramos at 57′ crushes the 30-16 goal, Moefana at 62′ that of 35-16. Just enough to overtake England, stuck at 20 points: in fact, the transalpines rise to 21, returning to win the Six Nations for the first time since 2022. Meanwhile, two editions had gone to Ireland.

Torino needs only Nikola Vlasic, Empoli in trouble

A game solved by great individual play.

Torino returned to winning ways and put tenth place in their sights, now only two points away after Udinese’s defeat in Friuli against Verona. The granata beat Empoli 1-0 in a more delicate challenge than expected, resolved by Nikola Vlasic in the 70th minute, and which puts the Tuscans more and more in trouble: fourth-last place and the salvation zone is now 3 points away.

It was precisely Empoli that built the first chance of the match, with Gineitis saving everything on Grassi. Torino resisted the first Azzurri shockwave and then reacted, with Vlasic and Biraghi coming to Silvestri’s sides. Then è Coco wasted a great chance, but the guests were in the match: Sambia raised his aim too much after a great action on the Gyasi-Cacace axis. In the final half Silvestri saves everything on Che Adams, but after having long suffered the opponents.

Vanoli ran for cover early in the second half by immediately sending Masina into the fray, who not surprisingly built the first Granata chance of the second half after a handful of minutes. Empoli seemed more guarded, but after the hour of play they restarted in a big way with Kouamé and then wasted everything with Gyasi, who in front of the goal threw the ball over the crossbar.

Having disposed of the scare, Torino regrouped and went on to win the game. Credit to Vlasic, who gathers the ball and does it all by himself by recovering a dirty ball on the three-quarter line, resisting Marianucci’s return and mocking Silvestri with a venomous ball that slips into the low corner. Chiffi cancelled Masina’s double for offside, Cacace and Colombo engaged Milinkovic-Savic who però saved the result. And for Empoli è really late night.
