The name of the first finalist arrives.

Holger Rune will play the final of the Indian Wells tournament. The Dane è earned the final act of the Masters 1000 played on the Californian cement by beating in just over an hour and a half Daniil Medvedev, in a 7-5, 6-4 without argument.

The first possible breakthrough in the match had come in the fifth game of the first set, when Rune snatched service from Medvedev, who was able, però to hit the counterbreak already at 3-3. After an eternal eighth game (as many as 18 points) è it was then the eleventh that proved decisive, with the Dane who è took a further break and è won the set in the next game.

Much easier was Rune’s task in the second set, with the break found as early as the third game in the midst of two service rounds in which Medvedev è failed to score a single point. The Dane leaves the crumbs to his opponent, who is ahead of him in the ATP world rankings, and goes on to win the Indian Wells final.

For Rune, this is the fourth career final in a Masters 1000 on the ATP circuit. He had previously won in Paris-Bercy in 2022 by beating Novak Djokovic and lost twice in 2023, however: in Monte Carlo against Rublev and at the Internazionali d’Italia precisely against Medvedev.

The words of Simone Inzaghi

Simone Inzaghi spoke to DAZN microphones after the win in Bergamo: “I am very satisfied with the performance. We could have closed the game earlier, there’s been the post and the goal cancelled that was probably regular. Atalanta è a great team, we really conceded very little. We did nothing, but congratulations to the boys. We had many at home, but with this spirit we can do important things”.

“Against Atalanta we need running, determination and aggressiveness; then all games are different. Tonight è was a match with good rhythms, between two teams that faced each other openly and that with merit are leading the league”.

“Do we” want to take” just everything? We want to play as many games as possible. I hear a lot of debates and there is a lot of talk that Inter can’t win anything, but this è sport. We are happy to play so many games, now there will be a break and then we will start again. We cannot look back, tonight we won deservedly and we continue on this direction”.

Filling in on Dumfries’ condition: “He had a soreness, it will beà to be evaluated. He looked a little something, even did not want to be changed”.

Atalanta-Inter 0-2

Very heavy victory for Inter in the post-match of the 29th day of Serie A. At the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, after an evenly balanced first half opened with Thuram stopped by the post after a lonely action in one-on-one with the opponent goalkeeperr, Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri took the lead with a header by Carlos Augusto (54′) left free by the Dea defense.

The hosts were left in ten from 81’81; for the expulsion of Ederson (for double caution for protests) and in the final had to raise the white flag after Lautaro doubled (87′). In the recovery expelled, after Gian Piero Gasperini, also Bastoni.

The success allowed Inter to attempt a breakaway at the top of the standings by taking advantage of Napoli’s draw against Venezia in the 12:30 a.m. advance, moving to +3 right over the Azzurri and +6 over Atalanta, already defeated in the first leg at the San Siro and third after dreaming of a hook-up at the top.

Pecco Bagnaia doesn’t feel like a fourth-place driver

The words of Pecco Bagnaia

Pecco Bagnaia è vented after the disappointing Grand Prix d’Argentina: “I simply struggled to have a pace that would allow me to at least try to fight for third place. I got off to a good start and got to the front right away, but after a few laps I started to have trouble getting the rear tire to work. I probably wasn’t good at handling it. Not è that I went so much slower than the first ones, but just that tenth or tenth and a half that added up for all the laps generated this gap of 5 seconds”.

“Unfortunately, although I tried in the final to get close to Franco again, I couldn’t. He pushed hard with the soft but in the end è it was consistent and so I made fourth, but there’è to work and there’è to understand some things. I am not being able to ride like I used to and especially I don’t have the feeling of last year. We have to work to get back to it”.

“I do my best every time I get on the track, I do what I can. My best today was to get fourth. As soon as I can regain my usual feeling I will come back and fight for first place, where I belong, because I am not a fourth-place or even a third-place rider. You have to work to get back to the front and get a good feeling, which is taking time away from me. This weekend we took a step forward, but obviously it è was not enough. È it is true that this is not è a congenial track, but I shouldn’t finish fourth anyway so there’è to make another step”.

“The’beginning of last year had been even more complicated. We had gone down a totally wrong path and got back on track in Jerez. Considering that in 2024 I had won in Qatar, a track where però I do very well, doing zero in Portimao and fifth in Austin, let’s say that the start of last season had been worse. Here però I’m already 31 points from the top, so you have to turn and try to gain points, becauseé even if the tracks that will come after Austin will be more towards me è difficult to recover so many points to a rider like Marquez that of mistakes does not make”, concluded.
