Vincenzo Italiano’s words on the eve of Fiorentina-Genk

Vincenzo Italiano presented the challenge against Genk, valid for the fifth day of the Conference League, in a press conference: “This match that è fundamental and decisive. With a victory we can mortgage the passage to the round and therefore we will have to take the field with maximum concentration. We have to redeem a not good period in the championship. We have to be more concrete under the goal: the stakes è important and we have to give everything we have”.

On the poor scoring streak of the forwards: ” ” true, they are not scoring goals but Bonaventura and Gonzalez are scoring… the forwards are working a lot. If we are talking about a player who has to get unblocked and then the team does not benefit from it, it is not good. The forwards are doing too little for what we are creating and producing, è it’s true, but the truth; è that until recently we were scoring with so many men and now we are jammed…it’s not è a problem only of Beltran and Nzola. We have to find the spark and a breakthrough … first forò we think about the team and then only afterwards at the individual level. È already happened last year and I think it will happen again this season”.

Then he announced two heavy absences: “Tomorrow we will not have Jack (Bonaventura, ed.), Mandragora and Comuzzo. Rolando has a fever, the others have muscle discomfort”.

The Viola coach canò smile about Kayode’s recovery: “Mike is much much better. We decided not to bring him to Milan to train. I have seen him really grown up, it seems that the pain in his ankle is gone”.

“He has an enthusiasm to come back that maybe he has to lower–he has to be careful. He has undergone a delicate operation and would already like to be on the field. Certainly with the enthusiasm he has he will reduce the recovery time but he has to be okay…he has to be 100 percent when he comes back.” he commented on Dodo.

Published

on

With the championship now devoid of concrete goals, all Torino has left to do is to hit the last symbolic milestone: mathematical salvation, only one point away. From there on, the goal will be to end the season in the best possible way, accumulating as many points as possible. At the Olimpico – Grande Torino, however, comes a hungry Verona, which, with only a 7-point margin over the relegation zone, needs a win to avoid nasty surprises, especially if Empoli should overcome Cagliari.

The Scaligeri are also living a positive moment, with two consecutive useful results: the external victory in Udine and the internal draw against Parma. All the ingredients for an intense challenge are there.

Probable lineups:

Torino probable lineup (4-2-3-1): Milinkovic; Walukiewicz, Coco, Maripan, Biraghi; Casadei, Ricci; Lazaro, Vlasic, Elmas; Adams. All. Vanoli.
