Under the nose of FSB, a miraculous icon that had previously belonged a Ukrainian temple was stolen in Moscow
Russian media reported that the icon of the Virgin Bogolyubskaya had been stolen from the Church of St. John the Evangelist, located in the heart of Moscow, only 350 meters away from the building of the Federal Security Service on Lyubyanka Street. A clarification is interesting. The icon was, until two weeks ago, located in the Ukrainian city of Khartsysk, on the territory controlled by the separatist Donetsk People’s Republic. It was then illegally exported. It was written in 2011 On May 9, 2023 the icon began to flow in abundance. Believers took this as a signal and were convinced that healing would occur. The icon was temporarily taken to Moscow.
Now, the icon has been taken away by several women who were captured on video. It is believed that some of them are from the occupied Mariupol. One of the women reportedly called Father Pavel, the rector at the temple and explained that she had taken the icon because it was hers. The Russian police have opened an investigation.

Apparently, according to the authorities, at least one of these “demonesses” has already made a bad reputation in Mariupol. She deceived the public, posing a “sister” of mercy and also robbed temples. The security service of Donetsk People’s Republic advised her to leave the territory for destructive activities and not discredit the Russian Orthodox church or Russia. As you can see, the plan didn’t work.”

The European Commission has announced the results of the 2024 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks call.
The Commission will fund a total of 149 excellent doctoral programmes with €608.6 million to train over 1800 doctoral candidates in and outside academia.
€536.9 million will be awarded to 133 standard Doctoral programmes, to train PhD candidates and develop their skills.
Funding includes also €26 million for 8 Industrial Doctoral programmes to train PhD candidates and develop their skills outside academia, including in industry and business. Doctoral candidates will also benefit from joint industry-academia supervision.
An additional €33 million will be allocated to 8 Joint Doctoral programmes, which promote joint selection, training and supervision leading to joint or multiple doctoral degrees.
The European Research Executive Agency (REA) received 1,417 applications for this call. This means a success rate of 10.6 %.
Close collaboration beyond academia
These doctoral programmes are implemented by international partnerships, involving 9335 organisations in 130 countries in the EU, Horizon Europe associated countries and beyond. 4725 of these are private for-profit entities.
Selected projects are coordinated by organisations in 18 countries.
