Max Verstappen’s future
Red Bull’s decision to make its own powertrains is causing much discussion.
Verstappen’s manager, Raymond Vermeulen, has no doubts, however, that everything will work out for the best: “If the deal with Porsche did not materialize in the end, it is because Red Bull is convinced that it has laid the groundwork for a winning project. The no to Porsche is proof of the Anglo-Austrian team’s vision,” the words to the Dutch newspaper Formule1.nl.
Juan Pablo Montoya meanwhile in an interview with Semana’s ii compatriots went wild as he used to do at the tracks. “Verstappen is doing a great job right now, he looks as invincible as when Hamilton was winning everything, that’s the reality. Max is a very good driver, but for now he has the best car. Verstappen’s speed right now is not higher than it was two years ago, it’s probably the same. It’s just that the car is much faster.”
“Instead of Max, there are about seven or eight drivers who could be world champions with Red Bull. For example Perez, Hamilton, Sainz, Leclerc, Norris would be world champions. It is clear that if you are not a good driver it becomes difficult, because the better you are, the more chance you have to be in a good team. Norris, for example, is a very good driver and McLaren has improved a lot this year, but Lando would probably be world champion in Red Bull.”
He also takes a jab at Lewis Hamilton: “It’s very nice to complain when you don’t win, but when he was winning he said the car gave him no advantage. Instead, Mercedes’ advantage was as big as what Red Bull has right now. I don’t want to say that Hamilton is not good, in fact he is a great driver. But the reality of the sport is that you have to be on the best car.”

All-U.S. semifinal at US Open
Another big man exits the tournament. After the various Alcaraz and Djokovic, Zverev è is also no longer in the running at the US Open. The German è was beaten by Fritz in four sets (7-6 (2) 3-6 6-4 7-6), at the end of a match that è lasted almost three and a half hours. A defeat that leaves a lot of bitterness in Zverev’s mouth. Dreams big for Fritz who, in the semifinals, will face the other American Tiafoe who, in the quarterfinals, wins the match with Dimitrov, forced to retire in the fourth set due to a physical problem: 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, 4-1 the partials in favor of Tiafoe.
The United States dreams, after 21 years (Roddick, 2003), of an American winning the U.S. Open. In the meantime, it enjoys Sinner who, thanks to Zverev è’s knockout; increasingly serene in his comfortable position as world No. 1.
