Alessia Orro sets her next goal

Alessia Orro bets big on Italy Cup goal
An intense weekend is about to begin for Italian women’s volleyball: in fact, at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno, the Final Four of the Italian Series A1 Cup will be held between Saturday and Sunday, with four teams in contention. In the first semifinal will face Conegliano and Novara, in the second Scandicci will tryà to topple Vero Volley Milano.
The girls led by coach Stefano Lavarini believe in it, starting with captain Alessia Orro: “We are definitely in a positive moment compared to the beginning of the season,” said the Olympic champion. “We come to this Italian Cup with important victories in the Champions League and in the championship, which give us further confidence. We know that against Scandicci it will be an intense battle, also because we know each other very well by now”.
Orro è one of the fourteen players at coach Lavarini’s disposal: in addition to her, on the Numia Vero Volley Milano roster there are the other setter Kostantinidou, the middle hitters Danesi, Guidi, Heyrman and Kurtagic, the setters Sylla, Cazaute, Egonu, Daalderop, Pietrini and Smrek, and the frees Gelin and Fukudome.

Brescia awaits Trieste, Peppe Poeta explains major pitfalls

Sunday Brescia challenges Trieste
The nineteenth day of the basketball Serie A will propose, among other competitions, the very interesting challenge between Germani Brescia and Pallacanestro Trieste: both in the playoff zone, the two teams are looking for important points to continue their path in the top areas. For the Biancazzurri it will also be an important opportunity to raise their heads again after the loss against Napoli last Sunday.
“We are expected to play a very complex game against a team of high level and that is going through a very good moment of form – said Peppe Poeta, coach of Germani -. Trieste è the second lineup in the league for three-point shots attempted and the first for offensive rebounds won”.
The White and Blue coach then went on to describe the potential pitfalls of the Feb. 9 challenge: “Their game identityè is clear and defined, they express their offensive flow in the first seconds of possession, being able to count on top of an absolutely talented guard package. Faced with the characteristics and qualitiesà of our opponents, we will have to offer a very good defensive performance”.
” We also have to try to limit their game creators,” Poeta added, “and be solid on defensive rebounding, not allowing Trieste the chance to run the court in transition and to write easy baskets on the scoreboard, elements typical of their way of interpreting basketball. It will beà a tough challenge and we will need the usual warmth and support of our public”.

Marc Marquez goes fast: Pecco Bagnaia doesn’t get scared
Pecco Bagnaia analyzed positively the three-day test in Sepang ahead of the start of the MotoGp World Championship: the Piedmontese rider signed the second overall time in the tests, but è was slower than teammate Marc Marquez during the Sprint race simulation held on the final day. The Catalan rider è seemed fit and comfortable on the bike, but Pecco is not scared.
“It was three very intense days becauseé we had so many things to try, we still managed to try them all, so è it was very positive. To be able to do that we had to do the two simulations between me and Marc with two different configurations, just to give as much data as possible and we are understanding more things” are the words after the tests taken by Formulapassion.
“Having two different configurations, rightly so becauseé we had to give data, he I saw that è was very fast, è was very constant, I unfortunately because of a vibration I had to slow down lap after lap a little more’, but all this helps us to move forward”, continued the two-time MotoGp world champion,
Bagnaia confirms that the decision on the engine is not è yet arrived: “The new engine for how’è born at the level of delivery would push us to choose it, forò we still have to make our evaluations in Thailand, where the level of grip è moreù low. The GP24 has a fantastic base, which works perfectly. The 2025 engine seems to have a lot of potential, but we still have to figure out so many things”.

Ducati, Marc Marquez ahead of Pecco Bagnaia but hides
Marc Marquez ahead of Pecco Bagnaia in the Sprint simulation carried out in Sepang testing. The Catalan centaur recorded better times than Jorge Martin, winner of the fast race in 2024, and è was faster than everyone in the race pace, even of his teammate two-time MotoGp world champion, who was però on track with a different configuration.
“Moreù fast than Martin in 2024? I think it’s normal, in testing you always go faster than in race weekends becauseé there’è more rubber on the track. I think among those who did a Sprint test, Alex was faster than me and he gave me two tenths. In the dry lap I am moreù farther away but I only used one tire”.
The balance of the Malaysian tests è very positive for number 93: “I would give an 8 to these three days. I felt good both physically and with the team. Obviously there are very fast riders, including my teammate and Alex, but we made progress”.
