The last, unfortunate parenthesis may soon be forgotten.

Roberto Mancini is no longer the technical commissioner of Saudi Arabia, but he is ready to start again as soon as possible on a new bench. Whether it be that of another national selection or perhaps that of a club, the first for him since as far back as 2018 (when he left Zenit St. Petersburg and the next day became Italy’s coach). Vouching for his future is his son, Andrea Mancini, who framed his plans and state of mind after the last turbulent week.

“When he è went to Saudi Arabia he believed in it, so by necessity now he è sorry,” Andrea Mancini told ‘Radio Serie A’ -He was convinced that he could do a good job, and I think that beyond the results something good came. His experience è however, is enormous, so he is already ready for a project that he can feel is his own. And lì certainly will doà well”.

Andrea Mancini then dismissed the question about his father’s possible restart from a club or national team: “Now è it is premature to talk about it. His career shows that he is è open to everything, as he has worked in Saudi Arabia, but also at Zenit or Galatasaray, as well as in England. He must però find a project that he can believe in and that will make him feel fulfilled”.

“Here patience is needed, especially now that local players are no longer starters at clubs. The managers are also very good but there is still not much experience for high-level soccer. It would have been really hard to qualify, I did not even have 50 percent of the starters in the league”, Roberto Mancini had told ‘Il Messaggero’, giving his explanation to the problems he faced as ct of Saudi Arabia.

A liberating victory for the granata.

Paolo Vanoli enjoys the return to success for Torino, victorious again in Serie A after a painful 1-0 win over Como on Friday night. The granata coach cheered under the curve at the end of the match, emphasizing how much he and the team have suffered the last few weeks studded with defeats after an excellent start to the season.

“I feel the responsibility of coaching a team like Torino, a square of great importance. It is not è a task for everyone,” Vanoli explained to ‘DAZN’ -We came from a month with good performances, but without results. And that was difficult to digest. If è success è becauseè we first made mistakes, and winning again in front of this audience è fantastic”.

” I was looking for a performance just like the one we provided tonight against Como,” Vanoli continued in his analysis of the match. “I needed to see if the group had the character to come out of the difficulties we have had recently. Especially since, after our great start, we probably brought it on ourselves a bit. Results can affect performance, and what è happened to us must serve as a lesson”.

According to Vanoli, Torino’s own match with Como certifies his theory: “The fear of losing took away our serenityà conditioning us. In the first half we moved little, because we were afraid. Then during halftime I asked the team for more courage, and the boys did well. In that exultation under the curve there’è all my desire to give my all for our fans”.

The first concerns come as early as Friday.

Max Verstappen without peace, in this period without victories in Formula 1 that seems interminable after the dominant start that had also marked the 2024 season. The Dutch driver, since the first free practice on Friday that opened the program that will conclude on Sunday with the Mexican Grand Prix, has reported new problems with his Red Bull. This time to the engine.

While on the track, in fact, Verstappen è addressed his team via radio in a message that è was broadcast worldwide. “There is something wrong with the engine. I don’t know what it is, it’s not going well. I’m without power”, said the three-time Red Bull world champion.

A new alarm, which però at least for the moment does not appear too serious. This is reported by the Dutch press following Formula 1’s Mexico Grand Prix, to which Chris Horner revealed that Verstappen’s Red Bull è went through a “minor problem”. The Anglo-Austrian team is aiming to fix it in time to avoid further problems, although FP2 will be less indicative than other times as it is intended to test Pirelli tires in preparation for the 2025 championship.

Important però that the problem does not drag on seen to Sunday, as Verstappen could incur a grid penalty in case of replacement of several power unit components. One more problem for him, already struggling with a fast from victory that has now reached nine Grands Prix. In fact, the last one he won remains that of Montmelò in Spain, run at the end of June.

A success that involves a major leap in the rankings.

Torino resumed its run after three consecutive knockouts that had slowed its prodigious initial surge in the early rounds of Serie A. Paolo Vanoli’s team now returns to winning three points and does so in a challenge that was anything but easy against Como, beaten 1-0 after coming close to scoring several times. And for the granata the standings return to authorize dreams of glory.

That the evening may turn out to be complex for Torino can be understood from the very first minutes, in which to make themselves dangerous è Como with Nico Paz and especially with Fadera (excellent response of Milinkovic-Savic). The granata tried with Ricci, whose aim è però imperfect. The guests also lost Sergi Roberto to injury and breathed a sigh of relief when a clear offside denied Che Adams the lead.

Torino tried to set up the resumption with more courage, immediately frightening the Como rearguard with an initiative by Ricci. Then Goldaniga saves on Sanabria and Audero walls the door on Lazaro. There’è però work for Milinkovic-Savic as well, denying a goal from long distance to Strefezza and then flying over a new attempt by Nico Paz. The goal eventually came, and he scored it on 75′ the 19-year-old Njie, punctual to take advantage of a lightness by Braunoder: for him è his first professional goal. When time expired, then, again Milinkovic-Savic saves the result on Mazzitelli.

The return to victory allows Torino to temporarily join Milan in fifth place in the standings, with the Champions League zone just two lengths away. Como, on the other hand, slows down, but still remains three points away from the relegation zone at the moment. Although regrets in the Como household are certainly not lacking.
