Varas, an observer of the USMNT’s opponents during the 2022 FIFA World Cup and an assistant since 2023, è was originally hired as head coach of the U-20 MNT in November 2021 and coached the U-20 MNT to the top of their group at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.

Pochettino brings with him a wealth of experience gained in Europe. In addition to his successes on the pitch, Pochettino è known for his ability to manage and motivate high-profile players and his dedication to developing young talent. Many players who have worked under him have praised his ability to nurture their growth and maximize their potential. This focus on youth development aligns well with US Soccer’s long-term strategy to build a solid pipeline of talent for the national team. Pochettino’s appointment è supported in large part by a philanthropic gift to leadership from Kenneth C. Griffin, founder and CEO of Citadel and founder of Griffin Catalyst. Mario Balotelli è ancora senza squadra. Dopo la scadenza del suo contratto con l’Adana Demirspor, lo scorso luglio, SuperMario non ha ancora trovato una nuova sistemazione. Motivo per cui, si sta allenando, insieme ad un paio di amici, a Castegnato, in provincia di Brescia.

A 34 anni, Mario Balotelli si sente ancora in grado di dare il suo contributo e, infatti, è alla ricerca di un nuovo club dove rimettersi in gioco. Tuttavia, questa volta ha una richiesta precisa: “Mi piacerebbe davvero tanto restare in Italia questa volta”, le sue chiare parole a La Repubblica.

Purtroppo, almeno per il momento, nessun club italiano, di Serie A o anche Serie B, pare essersi fatto avanti. L’attaccante, classe 1990, non demorde e continua a lavorare duro: “Sono qui perché è il mio lavoro. È la mia vita. Voglio farmi trovare pronto”.

I momenti migliori della carriera di Mario Balotelli sono alle spalle ma l’ex centravanti della Nazionale (ha segnato 14 reti in azzurro) non ha nessuna intenzione di ritirarsi. Vuole continuare a giocare e, possibilmente, farlo in Italia. L’ultima sua apparizione “italiana” è stata nella stagione 2020/21 con la casacca del Monza. Arrivato durante la finestra invernale, ha segnato sei gol in 14 presenze totali con i monzesi, allora in cadetteria.
