Monte Carlo: Stefanos Tsitsipas-Jannik Sinner 6-4 3-6 6-4

Jannik Sinner’s adventure at the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 ends in the semifinals. The South Tyrolean, in fact, è was beaten by Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets with a score of 6-4 3-6 6-4, after two hours and 40 minutes of play. More specifically, the Azure, in the closing stages of the third and decisive set, encountered several physical problems that affected his performance.

The match immediately started on an uphill slope for Jannik Sinner, who, after nullifying a break ball in the first game, ceded his service in the third. From that moment on, Tsitsipas managed to control the match and not give the South Tyrolean any chances, winning the first partial 6-4.

In the second partial, the momentum shifted to the side of the world number two, who managed to convert the first break ball by snatching service from his rival in the second game. For much of the set, the azure manages to maintain control of the match and after nullifying as many as five break points in the ninth and decisive game manages to bring the score back to even and extend the match to the third.

The third set begins along the same lines as the second, with the South Tyrolean managing to immediately break the Hellenic’s service game. For the number 2 ATP also comes a 4-1 chance, canceled by the Greek with the first, but the real sensational fact comes next: a Tsitsipas center second goes long blatantly, no one calls it, the point closes, Sinner makes a very brief and calm protest, it goes on and è 3-2 for Jannik when, without a mistake, it would have been 4-1. In the sixth game comes the turning point, as Sinner requests a medical timeout for a physical problem in the right thigh area. From that moment the blue dropped as a performance and Tsitsipas took advantage to recover the break disadvantage and then close the score on 6-4.

The Viola overturned the result in the second half: “In the second half I è liked the team attitude, I è liked the team spirit but we conceded goals on set pieces, there is no way to take a goal like thatì. You have to analyze what we did well and what there’è to improve”.

Kean found the goal: “I don&#39t think it&#39s a matter of a single player, those who è entered gave a strong push to the team. I would like to see some of this attitude from everyone, which I did not see today. I will know how to speak to the team, è it is my job and I will have to analyze this thing”.
