The very young British rider Joshua Tarling, bearer of the Ineos Grenadiers and a specialist in races against the clock, won the Tirana time trial, the second stage of the Giro d’Italia 2025.

jasmine-paolini-for-the-first-time-in-the-round-of-16-in-rome:-“overjoyed”

Beautiful victory of Jasmine Paolini, who for the first time in her career reaches the round of 16 of the Internazionali d’Italia at the Foro Italico in Rome, beating with the score of 6-4 6-3 the Tunisian Ons Jabeur, a noble decadent and currently number 36 in the world, in less than an ira and a quarter of play.

There were as many as five breaks, out of ten games, in the first set. The first to stretch to 2-0 is Jasmine, who then immediately gets her break back. The No. 5 WTA ranking takes the lead again in the sixth gane and flies 5-2, on 5-3 she serves for the set but returns the break but then breaks Ons for the third time and closes on the first set point.

The second set is very close.

The second set is much more straightforward: Jasmine does not exploit a break point on 2-1 but from 3-3 she takes the match home by winning the last three games to zero: twelve points in a row! Now the 29-year-old from Tuscany will meet a real loose cannon, Latvian 2017 Roland Garros champion Jelena Ostapenko.

“I’m so happy, I’m finally in the round of 16 here. You have to get used to so much cheering and crowd. I am happy with how I handled the match – said Jasmine at the end of the match -Now I will try my best and I hope the audience will help me. Thank you very much Rome, you are fantastic”.
