Serie A 2024-2025: Hellas Verona-Cagliari, the likely lineups

The Stadio ‘Marcantonio Bentegodi’ is preparing to host, on the evening of Monday, April 28, the challenge of the thirty-fourth day of Serie A between Hellas Verona and Cagliari, two teams in the second half of the standings but relatively calm, although not yet arithmetically safe. The Scaligeri, with a win, would go +10 from the third’last place, while a success by the islanders would bring the latter to +8.
The Hellas have not won since March 15 but in the last five they have also lost only once, on April 19 against Roma. Confirmed Tengstadt’s absence, Dawidowicz won’t be there either: both are in lucky. In Paolo Zanetti’s 3-5-2 there will be space for the defensive trio Ghilardi-Coppola-Valentini, while in attack there will be Sarr and Mosquera.
David Nicola’s Cagliari comes from two consecutive knockouts, against Inter and Fiorentina, and has won only one of the last nine games played, against bottom-of-the-table Monza. Unavailable, due to injury, are Yerry Mina and Roberto Piccoli: Palomino is expected to play in the center of the three-man defense, while the’only offensive point of reference should be Luvumbo, with Viola a trequartista.
Probable lineups
HELLAS VERONA (3-5-2): Montipò; Ghilardi, Coppola, Valentini; Tchatchoua, Duda, Suslov, Bernede, Bradaric; Sarr, Mosquera. All. Zanetti.
CAGLIARI (3-5-1-1): Caprile; Zappa, Palomino, Luperto; Zortea, Adopo, Prati, Deiola, Augello; Viola; Luvumbo. All. Nicola.
