Lewis Hamilton, disqualification behind: “Immediately looked ahead”

Lewis Hamilton spoke at a press conference on the eve of the Japanese Grand Prix, scheduled for the weekend. “I heard some people say some nonsense – he began – like I would be losing faith in the team. I can say I believe 100% in this team, obviously there was a huge hype at the beginning of the year, probably a lot of people expected us to win right away, starting from the first race, but that was not what I expected.”
“I’m coming into a new culture, a new team, and it’s going to take time – added the British driver. “I’ve spent the last couple of months just observing how the team works compared to the other two I’ve worked in before. During the past week I have been able to take notes and point out areas where I think we can improve, and this process will continue throughout the year as we learn more and more from each other”.
Then he came back to the disqualification in China: “In general during a race you always avoid areas of the asphalt where there are bumps, in Shanghai at the exit of turn 13 the bottom was not touching the asphalt, there was not even rebound or anything like that, so I had no warning. Regarding disqualifications, we all know that all these single-seaters are set to the limit in every parameter, personally I didn”t feel any frustration when I was made aware of it. It is what it is”.
“We immediately looked ahead, I was in Maranello on Wednesday and learned a lot. I would say the most impressive thing was seeing how the team worked, how they processed the data and how we worked ahead of this weekend, that is the most important thing” Hamilton concluded.

Roland Garros: Ben Shelton breaks Matteo Gigante’s dream
Ben Shelton breaks Matteo Gigante’s dream at Roland Garros. After the feat with Stefanos Tsitsipas, the Italian failed to repeat with the U.S., number 13 in the world and in the seeding, who knocked him out in three sets (6-3 6-3 6-4) after two hours and 19 minutes of play.
In the first set, what made the difference was a break, obtained by the American in the fourth game at the fourth useful opportunity (3-1). Shelton concedes crumbs on serve and preserves the lead until the final 6-3 with which he makes the first partial his.
The second set began with a four-game run by the world number 13: Gigante recovered a break disadvantage in the eighth game (3-5) but lost serve again in the next game (3-6), finding himself down two sets.
The third set is the most balanced: it is the service game that rules until the’last game, when the Roman loses his serve after cancelling a match point and thus has to say goodbye to Paris, while Shelton flies to the round of 16.

PSG-Inter, Nicolò Barella jokes about Gianluigi Donnarumma
Nicolò Barella spoke at a press conference on the eve of PSG–Inter, the Champions League final, scheduled for Saturday at 9 p.m. at Munich’s Allianz Arena. “We are ready, we are loaded – he began -, with a lot of respect for a very strong team. We deserve a good finish to the season”.
“They have a very strong midfield, as does all of PSG, otherwise they would not be in the Champions final – added the Nerazzurri midfielder -. It is the beating heart, however, as I have always said, our strength lies in the team. We proved it with Barcelona: without a great group and a great team we would not have been able to play a game like that”.
“I have dreamed many times of replaying a match like this – admitted the Inter vice-captain -, it is the dream of every child to play these matches: they are the most difficult, but they leave you with something inside, a great emotion. Last time we played a great game, but the victory did not come. This time we will try to be more careful with the details, the cup is the dream of all of us”.
He then revealed a backstory with Donnarumma: “We spoke yesterday, we talked about everything except soccer. We talked about family, about the national team, with Gigio I have a lot of respect: he is a friend and I respect him like all PSG players. I hope he will be good”.
“If my career was based only on goals it would be uphill… There is no such thing as only goals, if it came tomorrow I would be more than happy. The most important thing for me is to give these guys a hand” concluded Barella.
