First double in A for Miretti: Genoa beats Lecce by a narrow margin

Genoa-Lecce 2-1
Genoa began with a success over Lecce, with the result of 2-1, the twenty-ninth day of the Serie A championship. At the ‘Ferraris’, under abundant rain, the Rossoblù thus conquer three points probably decisive for salvation, distancing by ten lengths precisely the Giallorossi, one of the direct competitors in the less noble zone of the standings.
The cover man of the evening è Fabio Miretti: the offensive midfielder owned by Juventus in fact signed his first double in A, two goals that proved decisive for the Grifone’s success. The first goal came on 16′, with a spectacular turn that caught Falcone by surprise, who could do nothing to prevent the ball from going into the net.
The second goal came instead at the twilight of the first half, moreù precisely during the second minute of recovery time: Miretti received the ball from Malinovskiy, skipped nimbly over Guilbert and finished on net, again beating the Giallorossi extreme defender for the 2-0 goal that made the home fans go crazy with joy.
In the second half, Genoa lowered its pace but Lecce struggled to take advantage. It’s forò an episode that reopens the match: Matturro touches the ball in the area with his hand at 64′, referee Maresca first signals to continue, then verifies first with the help of the VAR Room and then in person via on-field review, granting the penalty. To convert it è Krstovic, when the clock marks 68′.
There would be plenty of time to recover, but apart from a Karlsson conclusion on which Leali had to stretch to avoid trouble, Lecce did not sting further. Genoa wins and rises to 35 points, the Salentini remain at 25 and have to watch their backs, as Parma has 24 points and Empoli 22, and both have yet to take the field this round.

Marco Giampaolo makes no secret of his disappointment

Marco Giampaolo: “The second goal made me angry”
The defeat at home to Genoa è only the latest chapter in a very difficult period for Lecce, which in 2025 has won just twice in ten occasions and precisely against the Grifone sufferedìthe defeat number four in a row in the league, for a ranking that does not leave at all serene with nine games to go in the season.
“In the first half we were not up to the task – cut the Abruzzo coach short in the press conference -.We did not build, and when Genoa players were getting on the ball, we were thereì always with a moment delay. The second goal è stemmed from a mistake of ours that made me angry, in the second half we played better but it è was not enough&#quot;.
However, the Giallorossi coach è took responsibility for this negative moment: “The fans’ displeasure è the same displeasure as mine. Gaspar’s absence? He is better, but I preferred Jean and Baschirotto to play. I am responsible, I am not afraid for the ranking, I am afraid if the team does not play with responsibility and takes goals like the second one tonight”.
Returning to coaching after a hiatus, Marco Giampaolo took the reins at Lecce on Nov. 11, 2024, after the Salento club exonerated Luca Gotti. This year's point average with Gotti was 0.75, with Giampaolo è it has risen to 0.94: still not è enough for salvation talks, for which the Salentini are still fighting.

MotoGp, Argentina: Pecco Bagnaia explains the crash with his Ducati

Pecco Bagnaia down, but è in Q2
Bittersweet conclusion of Friday for Pecco Bagnaia in Argentina: the three-time world champion in fact risked compromising the entire day with a crash in the final of the second timed session of the MotoGp, but fortunately for him, the time recorded just before allowed him to gain the tenth place, the last useful to avoid the treacherous Q1 and directly dispute the Q2.
Speaking to ‘Sky Sport’, Bagnaia explained what caused the slip: “I lay down and I could see myself alreadyà eleventh, out of the top ten for a few thousandths – he began, with a joking tone -. The first time attack had been good, although without exaggerating, I was trying to file a few tenths but in turn 2 I entered a little too tight and the bike è closed. It canò happen”.
Already; the start of the day, however, had been a bit underwhelming, with the 16th time over a second and a half behind Marc Marquez, his teammate: “This morning I felt like in Thailand, I didn't feel the bike well in the corner entry, I was coming long. Then we stopped and tried to figure out what to change: in the afternoon the feeling was better”.
“We need more” load at the rear, we were not going in the right direction – added Bagnaia -. We know where to intervene to make the bike flag less, tomorrow we will make more changes that, in my opinion, will allow me to manage everything better. I am convinced that we will see the step forward, already in view of the Sprint”.

MotoGp, Argentina: Marc Marquez puts his hands up after a lions’ Friday

Marc Marquez dominated Friday’s sessions in Argentina
.
Friday’s two timed sessions in Argentina gave a clear indication: Marc Marquez seems to be definitely at ease, so much so that he finished both FP1 and FP2 with the best time, in the first case ahead of the surprising Johann Zarco on Honda and in the second ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio, of Team VR46.
The Catalan firmly affirms that he has no reason to anticipate the celebrations: “Alex goes very strong – he said, starting with his brother the discourse related to the opponents for him more fearsome – but also Bezzecchi and Di Giannantonio are fast. And then there’è Bagnaia, who è fell but could easily be among the top four or five”.
“The Ducati is going strong,” the number 93 later explained. It seemed to me that the set-up was not particularly suitable for my riding style but I must say that we did a great job during the day, and è it went very well. Now forò we have to think about qualifying, the race will depend so much on the grid position. There’è still a lot to do”.
Marc Marquez, class of 1993, è in his second season riding a Ducati, his first in the factory team. His debut in 2025 è was a happy one, to say the least, as at the Buriram circuit, on the first weekend of the season in Thailand, he took first pole position and then success in the Sprint Race and Grand Prix, immediately placing him at the top of the overall standings.
