Naples, Antonio Conte is only half satisfied

Napoli, Antonio Conte è only half satisfied;

“A beautiful first half, an ugly second half”. This is how Antonio Conte summarizes the match with Genoa won by his Napoli 2-1. Although the three points mean first place the coach of the partenopei does not è very satisfied.

“My warning to the boys between the first and second half è was precisely not to let them get back into the game – explained the partenopei coach.

In the first half the domination è was total in all aspects. There was no match. But precisely because of my experience we had to raise the focus and we should not lull ourselves on what we did in the first half”.

Therefore, it wasn&#39t enough to play “the mostù beautiful first half since I have been on the bench of Napoli” to close the game in tranquility. “In the second we were passive and I did not like that. We conceded a shot after just a minute, then the goal clearly rekindled the fans’enthusiasm and this è a difficult field. We wanted to suffer by making the match uphill”.

“That is why I think we will have to do some reflections but at the same time we have to be happy with the result becauseé we are celebrating the 3 points. We should have been looking for the third goal and defending by attacking not becoming passive. When I talk about work in progress I am referring to all this. Today, I repeat, the second half è was negative in all aspects. I am not satisfied”.

“My warning to the boys between the first and second half è was precisely not to let them back into the game-explained the coach of the Azzurri. In the first half the domination è was total in all aspects. There was no match. But precisely because of my experience we had to raise the focus and we should not lull ourselves on what we did in the first half”.

“I can say that we will do introspection and understand that we can do much better. Taking chances to tie is not part of my mentality and not part of what I try to transfer. I have guys who understand when there’è something to improve as I said :first half beautiful, second half ugly”.

For Monza new stop against Piacenza

For Monza new stop against Piacenza

MINT Vero Volleyball Monza cannot shake off the negative trend of the period. In the second day back of the Credem Banca SuperLega Regular Season, the Consortium’s men’s first team did not è manage to replicate on the court the game seen against Fenerbahçe and overcome Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, celebrating in three sets (25-21; 25-17; 25-19). Monza opened the match well thanks to winners Rohrs and Szwarc, but Piacenza è quickly took the lead, leaving no room to maneuver and, despite a comeback attempt by the Brianzoli, closing the first set 25-21. In the second partial Gas Sales dominated (7-3), able to take advantage of Monza’s difficulty in reception, which with the changes of Di Martino and Marttila did not è manage to shake things up, letting the partial slip away 25-17. In the third set, Monza attempted a reaction with Beretta and Szwarc, but aces by the Maar-Simon pair and plays by Romanò and Kovacevic allowed the hosts to close 25-19, winning the match with confidence. MVP of the challenge Stephen Maar; for Monza in double figures Szwarc (top scorer with 14 points) and Rohrs with 12 ground balls. However, MINT has an immediate opportunity to make up for it, although the challenge on the horizon is not an easy one: on Thursday, December 26 at 5 p.m., the Brianzoli will take to the court of Monza’s Opiquad Arena against Cucine Lube Civitanova.

No changes from previous matches for coach Eccheli, who confirms the sextet with Kreling-Szwarc on the diagonal, Zaytsev and Rohrs pair of setters, Beretta-Averill in the center and Gaggini in the role of libero.

Strong start for Monza, which thanks to Rohrs and Szwarc immediately led 2-4. After quickly regaining parity, Piacenza tries to escape (7-5) but Monza stays hooked and restores the balance. New advantage for the hosts, who this time stretch +4 (14-10). Beretta triggers his team’s comeback, but Simon’s response comes promptly (19-15). A winner by Rohrs and a wall by Beretta bring Monza back to -1 (22-21), forcing coach Anastasi to call time-out to stop the Brianza streak. Upon returning to the court, Piacenza did not waste the opportunity and closed the set 25-21, taking advantage of three set points at their disposal.

In the second fraction, the positive trend continues for Gas Sales, which runs away again (7-3) and the Monza bench takes refuge in the suspension. MINT struggles to find continuity in the game, and at 10-4 comes the double change Di Martino-Martilla in place of Zaytsev and Averill. Suffering in reception for the Brianzoli, who suffer the Piacenza game and fail to close the +8 gap (13-5). Szwarc’s hand out tries to awaken Monza (17-10), but the hosts stretch again and touch 20-11. Despite Marttila’s ace (21-15) and Szwarc’s attempt to cancel the first set point, Piacenza closes the second set 25-17.

A challenge between powerhouses at the start of the third set: on 2-1 comes Beretta’s first time, then Galassi’s 4-1 response and after that Di Martino’s 5-2. Drawn by Romanò and Kovacevic Piacenza doesn’t make a mistake, while Monza è still forced to chase (8-3). Reaction from Monza: Rohrs finds the sixth point and reopens the game to -1 (10-9). MINT keeps within striking distance, but two consecutive aces by Maar mark a new, decisive Piacenza stretch (16-11). Di Martino’s serve grazes the net and an ace also comes for Monza, which recovers a few points to -2 (18-16). The challenge seems to be in its final throes for Piacenza, which again with Romanò and Kovacevic takes 22-17 and then match point with Simon’s ace (24-18). Beretta cancels the first, but Gas Sales Bluenergy wins set and match.

POST RACE STATEMENTS
Marco Gaggini (libero MINT Vero Volley Monza): “After the last match we thought we had found the breakthrough that had not been seen in recent months. Unfortunately, instead here we had the confirmation that we have so many gaps; at times we play well, but as soon as something goes wrong we start making a lot of mistakes. We cannot find a breakthrough, the only thing to do è work hard on it during the week”.

Double blue podium in ski cross in San Candido, the birthplace of Jannik Sinner

Second place for Jole Galli and third place for Simone Deromedis: è double blue podium in the second freestyle ski cross World Cup challenge in San Candido, in the province of Bolzano, the locality where è Jannik Sinner was born. Third podium of the season for Deromedis, who in the previous stages had been able to impose himself in Val Thorens to seize a second place at night in Arosa: thus rises to nine the spoils of podiums in the maximum circuit for the 24-year-old from Val di Non. Thirteenth in qualifying, Deromedis was able to impose himself in his own battery and then close in the wake of German Wilmsmann the following fourth.

In the semifinals, the rainbow champion è was good and lucky to take advantage of the error that cut off Wilmsmann himself and Sweden’s David Mobärg, to thus gain access to the main final. The decisive round è was literally dominated by Canada&#39s Reece Howden, ready to overtake the experienced Swiss Alex Fiva with Deromedis good at taking third place from the start and then not giving it up again, despite attempts by Austria&#39s Johannes Aujesky. In the small final there’s room for Federico Tomasoni who è seventh to take the best result of the season, after an excellent qualification – sixth time for him – and successes in the eighth and fourth. Thirteenth place then for Davide Cazzaniga, second in Tomasoni’s wake in the battery and then out in the quarters; while Dominik Zuech è went out during the third eighth of the final.

Bordering on exemplary was the performance of Jole Galli, who thus returned to the World Cup podium after her only experience in February 2023, when she was third in Reiteralm. In between the serious ligament injury suffered at the opening of last season that forced her into a long competitive break, interrupted only a few weeks ago on the same Val Thorens snows. And after her fourth place on the French snows, the Carabiniere from Livigno è gives herself the best result of her career today in San Candido. Second in both the quarters and semifinals, in the decisive round Jole Galli was able to take full advantage of the contact between Canada’s India Sherret and France’s Marielle Berger Sabbatel, which opened wide for her the way to the podium.

The Italian woman è kept in the wake of German Daniela Maier, ready to repeat the previous day’s success ahead of an excellent Galli. Third place then for Berger Sabbatel. After the San Candido stage, Simone Deromedis climbs to 285 points to occupy third place in the overall World Cup standings, a ranking led by Wilmsmann with 310 points ahead of Howden (296); the double Puster success launches Maier (369) to the top of the women&#39s standings followed by Sherret (325) and the other Canadian Thompson (320); sixth place for Jole Galli with 225 points. The next Skicross Cdm event è scheduled in Reiteralm, Austria, starting Jan. 14.
