MotoGP returns to Brazil from 2026

MotoGP returns to Brazil. Through an official statement, in fact, the MotoGP premier class has announced that from 2026 to 2030 it will be raced at Goiânia International Racetrack Ayrton Senna, a circuit that hosted three Brazilian Grand Prix, between 1987 and 1989.

“The return of MotoGP to Goiás è a historic milestone for us,” stressed Governor Ronaldo Caiado.” Goi&acirc&nia will be, over the next five years, the home of MotoGP in Brazil. We are working to ensure that the infrastructure and services provide an unforgettable experience for riders, teams and fans”.

“The Brasil Motorsport group has a tradition of working with great sports leagues and in the organization of major events,” added Alan Adler, CEO of Brasil Motorsport. “Based on this experience, I am convinced that the MotoGP one in Goiânia will be a great success. We will have one of the most exciting sporting events in the world along with entertainment attractions, important brands and enthusiastic fans. A mix that will guaranteeà success”.

We have a good fan base that we know is excited about this news, as we are eager to return to racing again for all of them, and this new agreement also offers a fantastic opportunityà for expansion in a key market for the sport and our manufacturers. Roma also found victory again in the Europa League. At the Stadio Olimpico, in fact, the Giallorossi overcame Braga with a net 3-0. To open the scoring è was Pellegrini after only ten minutes, in the second half Abdulhamid and Hermoso fixed the result on the final 3-0.

Roma got off to a very strong start and after ten minutes found the lead with an angled right-footed shot by Pellegrini from the edge of the box. The Giallorossi captain went close to doubling three more times but two crossbars (the second hit before an offside flag was signaled for Soulé) and a mistake from close range denied him his personal double.

At the beginning of the second half the hosts doubled with Abdulhamid penetrating the box and beating Matheus with a violent shot under the crossbar. The Giallorossi did not stop and continued to make themselves dangerous but Matheus, sent off at 68’ for a hand touch outside the box, and a few mistakes under goal kept the game at 2-0. In the final, however, Hermoso drops the trio with an easy tap-in.

Thanks to this victory, Roma climbs to 9 points, momentarily in 12th place in the standings, in the middle of the play-off zone.

Another silver came for Alberto Razzetti at the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest. After placing second in the 200 medley, the Italian swam a repeat performance in the 200 butterfly, also signing the European record, erasing the 1’49″00 that he signed; Laszlo Cseh in Netanya 2015. The Ligurian swam in 1’48″64, surrendering only to Canadian Ilya Kharun, who set the American record in 1’48″24.

“I am delighted, è it was a great race,” he admitted to RAI microphones. “I knew it would be difficult with Kharun, yesterday in the 50 he showed that he is fit and moreover è resilient forè I am happy with the second place.1’49″00 was the European record which for me was something really incredible. To have beaten it fills me with pride. I am happy to have done less than Abu Dhabi“.

“Regardless of the form and time of the year I always try to give 100 percent otherwise there would be no point – added the 25-year-old from Lavagna -. I am now in great form and confidence, we have been working well for 4 years. We have to continue like this, the more I do these races done well, the more I feel like it. Today I can be very happy”.

“È always a pleasure to be on the podiums. You never get used to it, always a great thrill. It’ s an honor to have broken Cseh’s record, no need to introduce it. To have succeeded è a reason for honor. I am not convinced that I like this kind of podium, but at least è a different thing. We need to try novelties for our sport, to make it more popular because in my opinion it deserves to be even more so. Certainly of international medals I have been lucky enough to win many, I am happy to continue on this level and take satisfaction” concluded Razzetti.

Goodbye to Diego Bertoni

Victim of a tragic car accident è died Diego Bertoni, a 30-year-old soccer player on the strength of Cassina (Girone L of Lombardy’s First Category). The man, along with his wife, was returning from the San Siro stadium after watching the Champions League match between AC Milan and Red Star.

From initial findings, the class of 1994 was riding a scooter with his partner when, along Palmanova Street, he lost control of the vehicle and è fell ruinously to the ground, seriously injuring himself and losing consciousness. His wife, also in her 30s, è was injured but conscious and was transported to St. Raphael’s in code yellow. Despite the intervention of rescuers and attempts at resuscitation during transport to Niguarda Hospital in Milan, Diego unfortunately did not survive: he leaves behind not only his companion but also two small daughters.

The news è was also communicated by the club in which Bertoni played, Cassina. In a message of condolence, the club wrote: “Our club mourns the tragic death of Diego Bertoni, a First Team player, and extends a strong embrace to his family. On a day that was to celebrate the Juniores semifinal, we are close to those who loved him. Bye Diego, you will always remain in our hearts!”.

Enotria, a club where Bertoni had played as a boy during the 2007/2008 season in the Giovanissimi Regionali, also expressed their grief.
