Claudio Ranieri clarifies everything about Daniele De Rossi’s farewell

Claudio Ranieri, Roma coach, spoke in a press conference ahead of the challenge with Atalanta: ” the pride of us Italians, plays in a wonderful way. We are facing the third team with this philosophy: Napoli, Tottenham and now another team that always attacks, kudos to President Percassi because Atalanta è a perfect machine. Perfection does not exist, forò I dare say that è a perfect team”.

“But I saw a glimmer of light in my team again,” added the Roman coach, “I saw players who intensely want something positive. Right now we have to make our fans proud of what we are able to do. We are still not well physically, we cannot have everything and right away, but the negative notes that there were in Naples have been received. We have to improve the preventive, but we did well against Tottenham”.

So è returned to the exoneration of Daniele De Rossi: “I read that the blame for the exoneration of De Rossi è of Pellegrini, not è true nothing at all, this the fans must know. Né Mancini, né Cristante, né Pellegrini sent De Rossi away. In fact, they went crazy to make him stay, people need to know the truth.

More on Pellegrini: “I had two phenomena in my career as goal-scoring midfielders: Lampard and Pellegrini. We criticize him a lot, but how many midfielders score the goals that Pellegrini does? I have to help Roma, I can’t say how long this will last, in the meantime he is finding the goal in training, è a very sensitive and very introverted guy, he suffers more than anyone from this situation”.

Final comment on Dybala: “We will evaluate; Dybala training after training. He’s a player who can have some issues, and I have to avoid these issues. When he è turned on he did some wonderful things, but I have to evaluate well each time”.

Ferrari, appointment with history in Abu Dhabi: Charles Leclerc flanked by brother Arthur

Arthur Leclerc will drive Ferrari in FP1

The last weekend of the season, that of the Abu Dhabi GP, has yet to begin but Ferrari has already budgeted to establish a new historical record: the Scuderia di Maranello will in fact be the first ever for which two brothers will run in the same session, since in FP1 Charles Leclerc will be joined by his brother Arthur.

Born on Oct. 14, 2000, in Monte Carlo, Arthur Leclerc will therefore contest the first free practice session at the Yas Marina circuit, thus enabling the Cavallino to fulfill its obligation to grant two seasonal sessions to a rookie driver. It will be Carlos Sainz who will grant him his steering wheel, since Leclerc had left it in Mexico to Ollie Bearman.

The latter, having raced three Grands Prix this season (one with Ferrari and two with Haas) is no longer è considered rookie: for this reason Ferrari had to choose another rookie driver, deciding to give space to Charles Leclerc’s younger brother.

Arthur Leclerc thus returns to the wheel of an open-wheel car: after leaving Formula 2 at the end of the 2023 season, this year he has in fact competed in the European Le Mans Series, also winning a race at Imola, and in the Italian GT Championship, winning the final classification of the Endurance class together with crewmates Giancarlo Fisichella and Tommaso Mosca.

Marco Baroni and Lazio struggling with injuries

On the eve of the Italian Cup round of 16 match between his Lazio and Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico, which among other things precedes the league match between the same two teams scheduled for Sunday at reversed pitches, Marco Baroni explained how his team arrives and, in particular, shed light on two important players for the biancoceleste tactical chessboard, Nuno Tavares and Boulaye Dia.

“Tavares for this match is not there’è – said, without hiding too much, Baroni in the press conference -. I don&#39t throw in the towel for the next one, we have to see if the injury that kept him out in the last few games è been overcome. Dia I don&#39t think he will be able to be there on Thursday, but even for him there’s hope for Sunday”.

He could find space again, for the first time since last October 27, Gaetano Castrovilli, a footballer who, unfortunately for him, still had to deal with physical problems: “He told me that if he feels up to it, tomorrow I could give him a few minutes” said Baroni speaking just about the former Fiorentina player.

The winner of the challenge between Lazio and Napoli will face, in the quarterfinals, the winner of Inter-Udinese, scheduled for Dec. 19: the two contenders will face each other on a date chosen in the period from Feb. 5 to Feb. 26, which will be made official according to the conditions set by the calendars in those weeks.

Fabio Roselli new coach of women’s Italy

Just hours after the official parting of ways between the women’s national team and Nanni Raineri, the Italian Rugby Federation itself has announced that it has entrusted the role of women’s Italrugby coach to Fabio Roselli, former coach of the men’s Under-20 team and Zebre in the URC.

“I am honored,” Roselli commented, “I thank the Italian Rugby Federation for choosing me in such an important role. It’s a great chance for me to test myself in top-level contexts such as the Guinness Women’s Six Nations and the Rugby World Cup, after my experiences with Zebre Parma and the Men’s U20 National Team”.

“I would like, però to thank Nanni,” he added, “for what he has done in the last two years at the helm of the women’s national team: with him I have shared on the field, wearing the Rugby Roma jersey, some of the most important joys of my playing career and I am happy to find a solid, proven group that combines experience and freshness and that, thanks to his work and that of the technical staff, has achieved the goal of qualifying for the next World Cup”.

“I will immediately get to work to get on top form for the debut in the Six Nations: we will have a couple of months to do so, but I am sure that the girls will put as always all the effort possible to achieve performances to be proud of” concluded the new technical commissioner.
