F1, Monte Carlo: Charles Leclerc sends another clear message, Lewis Hamilton climbs back up
As happened in the first free practice session, FP2 in Monte Carlo is also in the sign of the’idol of the house, Charles Leclerc. As a matter of fact, the ferrari driver once again obtained the best time of the session, 1:11.355, although the gap to the second place (Max Verstappen in the morning practice, Oscar Piastri in the afternoon practice) is definitely smaller, standing at 38 thousandths of a second.
Behind Leclerc and Piastri is a decidedly reinvigorated Lewis Hamilton compared to the ninth position a few hours earlier: in fact, the British champion set the third fastest time of the session, 105 thousandths behind his teammate. It is not only Leclerc, therefore, who is sending another clear message to the competition: the seven-time world champion is also aiming to take advantage of the particular conformation of the Monte Carlo track to fight in the top positions.
Closing out the Top 5 were Lando Norris on the’other McLaren and a surprising Liam Lawson, who at the wheel of his Racing Bulls scored the fifth fastest time, placing ahead of teammate Isack Hadjar. The two Racing Bulls drivers did better than both Red Bull bannermen, with Max Verstappen tenth and Yuki Tsunoda eleventh.

Still some difficulty in adapting for Kimi Antonelli, who does not go beyond ninth position.
The young Bolognese, however, managed to make up ground on the other Mercedes driver, George Russell, even managing to get a better time in FP2, with the Briton forced to move from sixth position in the morning (with Antonelli eleventh) to twelfth in the afternoon.

MotoGp Silverstone: Alex Marquez smiles, brother Marc and Pecco Bagnaia a bit' less so
It’s Alex Marquez, on the Team Gresini Ducati, who set the best time in the MotoGp class as far as Friday’s second session at the Silverstone circuit, site of the British Grand Prix. The Catalan rider was only 47 thousandths better than Fabio Quartararo (official Yamaha), while Jack Miller (Yamaha Pramac) set the third best time, however, 347 thousandths behind the Ducatista.
For the two standard bearers of the official Ducati, Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia, it was not a session to remember: the number 93, although he managed to snatch the fourth best time, was the protagonist of a fall in the initial part of the tests, while the Piedmontese did not go beyond seventh place, 408 thousandths behind Alex Marquez, placing behind Marco Bezzecchi (official Aprilia) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati VR46).
Completing the Top 10, and thus qualifying directly for Saturday’s Q2, are Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR), Alex Rins (official Yamaha) and Fermin Aldeguer (Ducati Gresini). The others will have to face Q1: among them Italians Franco Morbidelli (Ducati VR46, 15th), Luca Marini (official Honda, 16th), Enea Bastianini (KTM Tech3, 18th) and Lorenzo Savadori (official Aprilia, 20th).
On Saturday, May 24, at 12:10 p.m. Italian time, the last free practice session will start, followed by Q2 and Q1, which will end at about 1:30 p.m. The Sprint Race is scheduled at 5 p.m. and will be run over the 10-lap distance. Sunday 25 will instead be the day of the Grand Prix, which the MotoGp riders will face from 2 p.m. Italian time on the 20-lap distance.

ATP Hamburg, Flavio Cobolli flies to the final after a great comeback
Flavio Cobolli will play a final of the major circuit of professional tennis for the third time in his career, the second at the ATP 500 level. Indeed, in the semifinal of the Hamburg tournament, the Roman tennis player overcame Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry in three sets, recovering a situation that had become very complicated in the second fraction to close 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 in 2 hours and 49 minutes of play.
After a balanced start, the Argentine went on to take the first set thanks mainly to the break won in game six, won on the advantages by taking advantage of the third break point. Cobolli fails to react and after a little more than three quarters of an hour it is Etcheverry who takes the lead in the set count, winning the fraction 6-2.
The blue athlete also failed to get into gear in the second set, at least at the beginning, and went down 3-1: from there on, however, he was able to find a series of effective strokes that allowed him first to recover the break disadvantage and then to complete a 6-2 partial that was worth 7-5 overall. Balanced until 4-4, finally, the third set, with Cobolli, however, having more in the final sprint and winning the last two games, taking home the victory.
The world number 35 will thus play his second final, on the ATP Tour circuit, of 2025: last April 6, in fact, he had managed to reach the final act in Romania, in the ATP 250 tournament in Bucharest, going on to win against Sebastian Baez with a double 6-4. In Hamburg, in addition to Cobolli, there’s another final with Italian athletes as protagonists, that of the doubles, with Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori facing Andres Molteni and Fernando Romboli.
