F1, Max Verstappen third with controversy
F1, Max Verstappen third with controversy
Max Verstappen è managed to hit the podium thanks to the penalty given to Lando Norris in the final of the Austin Grand Prix. The jury’s choice is causing discussion on social media but the Dutch driver tries to pull himself out of the controversy: “I have my opinion but I don’t need to say it here. I let the stewards do their job”.
Despite a very difficult race, Verstappen è still managed to gain on the second in the standings: “Compared to yesterday è it was different, I had a lot of understeer and struggled under braking. That also made it difficult to defend: every time I got on the brakes I couldn’t brake too late. With Lando è it was a tough battle, to keep him behind I tried everything. Getting on the podium è a very good result for us”.
Lando Norris preferred to gloss over the issue: “I tried to overtake, it was difficult, Max è defended himself well, this è everything”, said the McLaren driver.
“He made mistakes and so did I, but it is not for me to decide. I do not make the rules”, cut the Englishman short.

Inter, Simone Inzaghi crosses fingers for Calhanoglu
Inter, Simone Inzaghi crosses fingers for Calhanoglu
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi to DAZN spoke after the away win against Roma: “We have to work and improve, but tonight we were very good. Balanced first half in the second once we unlocked we could have doubled. I am very happy with what the boys showed me”.
Calhanoglu’s injury puts a strain on the midfield: “Tonight we had some little problems in the middle, Asllani and Zielinski were not well and Calhanoglu was also not at his best. I think he stopped in time. With the team we talked about it: we lacked points outside. Tonight was difficult and we were team”.
Praise for Lautaro Martinez: £He has to continue like this, with Inter and with the national team. I think he is in the 5 strongest in the world, I am happy for him. Tonight I would give it to all the guys, we faced a long, quality team. To win in Rome è a very important thing”.

Ferrari, Leclerc and Sainz elated: ‘Now the title’. The standings
Ferrari dreams of the Constructors’ World Championship
Ferrari is once again dreaming of the Constructors’ World Championship, last won back in 2008. After the Maranello team’s stunning one-two in Austin, Ferrari è now 48 points behind first-place McLaren and eight points behind second-place Red Bull. Confidence è is soaring after the performance unleashed in Texas, and Leclerc sent a clear message at the end of the race: “We are very happy. It had not been an easy weekend so far, I had struggled to find the feeling, but I was confident. After the Sprint we thought the others would improve a lot today, but we were still in front and couldn’t dream of anything better”.
The start è was decisive: “I did exactly what I wanted. I knew they would be very close in front. Yesterday I had been the ‘victim’ finding myself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Today, on the other hand, I took the advantage and that made the first stint easier: we had an extraordinary pace and in the second stint we managed the advantage”.
“The pit stops were perfect, everything è went very well. Now our goal è the title, the road è long but è a good start to this triptych of races”.
Also echoing Leclerc was teammate Carlos Sainz: “Congratulations to the whole team and Charles for a fantastic result, which puts us exactly where we wanted to be in the fight for the Constructors’ title. I knew the race would be decided at the start. I imagined that Lando and Max would challenge each other heavily in Turn 1 but unfortunately I got the worst of it at that stage. I couldn’t get to the front and even though I was very fast all weekend the track position è the key and I had to settle for second place”.
Constructors’ standings:
1) McLaren 544 points
2) Red Bull 504 points
3) Ferrari 496 points
4) Mercedes 344 points
5) Aston Martin 86 points
6) Haas 38 points
7) Racing Bulls 36 points
8) Williams 17 points
9) Alpine 13 points
10) Sauber 0 points

Lautaro Martinez knocks out Roma and freezes Olimpico, Inter second
Lautaro Martinez knocks out Roma and freezes the Olimpico, Inter second
Inter’s precious victory at the Olimpico in the Serie A Week 8 post-match: the Nerazzurri won 1-0 over Roma thanks to Lautaro Martinez's goal in the second half and climbed to second place in the standings, on 17 points. Juric’s team remains 10th with 10 points; for Inzaghi, the bad news is muscle trouble for Calhanoglu and Acerbi.
First half full of emotions and episodes, but without goals. Inter started better but was iced by injuries to Calhanoglu on 10′ and Acerbi on 27′, both struggling with muscle problems, and dropped late in the half. A woodwork on each side: the guests hit the crossbar with Mkhitaryan, while the Giallorossi almost took advantage of a mistake by Sommer, who made a mistake on Pellegrini’s cross but was saved by the post. There was no shortage of refereeing controversy, with referee Massa in the Nerazzurri’s sights for Cristante’s unsanctioned intervention on Thuram: on the occasion, Simone Inzaghi was cautioned for protests.
In the second half, some Roma blunders unlocked the result: Frattesi at 60’stole the ball from Zalewski and started a lightning fast counterattack finalized by Lautaro Martinez, who was good at taking advantage of a mistake by Celik. Juric's team goes into trouble, Inter nearly doubled the score shortly after with Dimarco.
Roma after the moment of disbandment reacts and creates chances with Dybala and Dovbyk. Juric also inserted Baldanzi and later Soulé, Inzaghi changed three putting Bisseck, Correa and Dumfries for Bastoni, Lautaro and Darmian. Inter is out of breath and the hosts lay siege to the Nerazzurri area, but the result does not change anymore.
