Fiorentina, against Milan Raffaele Palladino wants a magical night
Fiorentina, against Milan Raffaele Palladino wants a magical night
A perfect Fiorentina to give its fans and President Commisso a “magical night”. This is what Raffaele Palladino asks and hopes while waiting for tomorrow night’s challenge against AC Milan.
Two weeks ago, the Viola managed to comeback against Lazio thanks to Gudmundsson's two-goal penalty and give their coach his first success of the season, while last Thursday came the first victory, albeit with difficulty, in the Conference League against the modest Welshmen of The New Saints.
The goal now is to find continuity and face the break with a calmer mood and a better ranking. Although overcoming this Milan will not be easy.
“We face a great team, well coached and formed by champions – highlighted Palladino through the club’s official channels – Besides, they won the derby and in Champions if it’è played with Bayer. In short, it will be tough. However, we feel good, victories always bring enthusiasm, so we are all ready and excited for tomorrow’s match. Of course we will have to try to do something more than the performances in Empoli and Thursday in the Conference. We have to play the perfect game”.
The purple coach è knows that his Fiorentina still has a lot to work on and grow, the performance so far è has been below expectations: ” We know we have to improve in many aspects and we are working hard every day. However, I see great application from everyone and we will do everything possible to put Milan” in difficulty.
Compared to the cup match, Quarta, Ranieri and Comuzzo who were disqualified will be back available and several changes in the lineup are announced with the return among the starters of De Gea, Dodo, Gosens, Gudmundsson and Kean, possible the reconfirmation of former Adli after the good test and goal in the Conference challenge. Only at the last Palladino will decide whether to confirm tonight the module with the 4-man defense or return to the 3-4-2-1 used at the beginning of the season.

America’s Cup, Luna Rossa already looking ahead to a new challenge
America’s Cup, Luna Rossa already looks to a new challenge
Luna Rossa is moving forward with the America&#rsquo;s Cup project, despite its exit in the Louis Vuitton Cup final. This was stated by the patron of the Italian team, Patrizio Bertelli, speaking in the aftermath of the decisive defeat to Ineos Britannia.
”We are going ahead because é this è a commitment we made in 2020 when we started the America’s Cup – Bertelli’s words to Sky Sport -, we know that è a game in which we have to insist”.
The entrepreneur also announced that “Max Sirena will definitely be the team leader in the adventure we will face right away, while Francesco Bruni will be part of the team as a youth coach”.
Luna Rossa’s consortium has twice earned the pass to challenge the holders of the world’s oldest sailing trophy (and more) and lost both times, again from Team New Zealand, in 2000 and 2021.

Retegui ruthless, hat trick and assist as former: Atalanta sinks Genoa
Serie A, Atalanta-Genoa 5-1
After celebrating the first European success of this season on Wednesday against Shakhtar, Atalanta is back to victory in the league as well, after the home knockout against Como and the draw in Bologna: the orobic formation got the better without too much effort against Genoa, winning 5-1 also thanks to a Mateo Retegui decidedly inspired in his first as a former Rossoblù: three goals and an assist the loot of the national team striker.
Gasperini’s (another ex-Genoa) team starts strong right away: Lookman at 6′ and Hien at 14′ both shoot just outside the goal mirror, at minute 24 instead Retegui doesn’t miss, getting rid of Vasquez’s marking on the ball put in the middle by Lookman and beating Gollini on a slide. Orobici came close to doubling the score twice before the end of the first half: on 34′ Gollini’s save on Lookman was excellent, on 41′ Kolasinac’s conclusion slipped just wide.
Gilardino, after the intermission, proposes Vogliacco in place of Bani but the substance of the match does not change, so much so that at 50’again Retegui makes it 2-0: the 25-year-old striker pounces on the ball responted by Gollini after Ederson’s conclusion and again punishes the lack of defensive coverage against him. Ten minutes pass and Retegui also becomes an assist man: a precise pass from him allows Ederson to unleash a powerful right-footed shot under the crossbar, making it 3-0.
At 67′ Ekhator and Melegoni came in for Genoa in place of Pinamonti and Miretti, while a minute later Gasperini gave space to Zaniolo and Samardzic for Lookman and De Ketelaere. The Rossoblù are on the ropes and even hurt themselves on 74′: Vogliacco hits the ball in the box with his hand, after the evaluation in the VAR Room comes the confirmation of the penalty kick, which Retegui beats past Gollini for 4-0.
Atalanta really succeeds in everything and at 80’80’ the fifth goal also arrives: it is scored by De Roon, with a splendid volley from over twenty meters that goes in the right side of the Genoese goalkeeper. There’è space, at 83’83;, for the goal of the flag by Ekhator, who beats Carnesecchi in exit after receiving the filtering of Melegoni, but the substance does not change: the Atalanta wins 5-1, rises to 10 in the standings and returns to breathe, while Genoa remains at 5 points, only one conquered from 1° September onwards.

Tadej Pogacar takes another revenge.
Twenty-fourth success in 2024 for Tadej Pogacar
Tadej Pogacar put the icing on the cake of an extraordinary season by winning Saturday the 2024 edition of the Giro dell’Emilia, one of the longest-running races on the international calendar (the first edition dates back to 1909). For the Slovenian of UAE Team Emirates, who arrived alone at the finish line in his rainbow jersey won in Zurich last September 29, è it was the first success in the Emilia race after two consecutive second places, in 2022 behind Enric Mas and in 2023 behind compatriot Primoz Roglic.
Pogacar thus è took another revenge by routing the competition in the final part of the race that started in Vignola and arrived at the height of the Basilica of San Luca in Bologna, after a 210-kilometer route: the runner-up, Thomas Pidcock of Ineos Grenadiers, è arrived at 1’54”, in the small group that included Davide Piganzoli of Team Polti Kometa (lowest step of the podium for the first of the Italians) and Michael Woods of Israel-Premier Tech.
Nothing to do for another of the most &ugly expected men, Remco Evenepoel: the Belgian tried to sprint at the start of the first of the five climbs to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of St. Luke, but after Pogacar’s decisive response, he decided, d’agreeing with his team, Soudal-Quick Step, to withdraw and save his strength for the Tour of Lombardy.
For Pogacar è success number 24 in the season: a ride that began right in Italy, with the triumph in the Strade Bianche, and continued with successes at, among others, the Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France, as well as in the World Championships road race.
