After the knockout loss against Ineos Britannia in the Louis Vuitton Cup final, Luna Rossa’s helmsman James Spithill, among other topics discussed at media microphones, è bluntly spoke about his own future.
“I think I’m heading toward the end of my career. The new generation è at a much higher level than I have ever reached. I think this is really the end for me. I have to be realistic, I really believe that the next generation has the talent and the skills; to make it. I think it’s time to hang up the gloves” began the Australian helmsman.

Milan, Paulo Fonseca loses a defender to Fiorentina
Milan, Davide Calabria misses Fiorentina
Bad news for Paulo Fonseca just days before the match against Fiorentina. The Milan coach, in fact, will have to forgo Davide Calabria for the match at the Artemio Franchi on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, due to injury.
According to “Sky Sport” reports, the Rossoneri captain reportedly finished the last training session prematurely due to a muscle problem in his left calf.
In the coming hours, the player will carry out routine instrumental examinations to assess the real extent of the injury and establish with certainty the recovery time. Against Fiorentina, therefore, it will be Emerson Royal’s turn once again as right-back. Completing the defense there should be Gabbia, Pavlovic and Theo Hernandez.
In attack, on the other hand, Paulo Fonseca is expected to bet on Tammy Abraham as the offensive terminal, with Morata, Leao and Pulisic acting as trequartisti.

Italy’s Technical Commissioner Luciano Spalletti has released the list of 23 players summoned for the Nations League matches against Belgium (Oct. 10) and Israel (Oct. 14).
The former Napoli coach chose the path of continuity, confirming most of the players called up for the first two challenges against France and Israel. However, there are as many as four absolute novelties: Michele Di Gregorio of Juventus, Matteo Gabbia of AC Milan, Niccolò Pisilli of Roma and Daniel Maldini of Monza.

Reyer Venezia places a surprise hit in the backcourt. The Orogranata club, in fact, announced that it has reached an agreement to sign Rodney McGruder, a 194-centimeter guard, who last season wore the Olimpia Milano jersey.
Born July 29, 1991, in Landover, Maryland, USA, grows up basketballto Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, before moving to Jacksonville in Florida. In 2009 he embarked on a four-year college career at Kansas State. In his sophomore year he scored 11.1 points with 5.9 rebounds per game; in his junior year he rose to 15.8 points. As a senior, in his fourth year of college, he records 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, leading Kansas State to first place in the Big 12.
In 2013 he signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder and in December moved to the’Atomeromu Paks, averaging 14.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in the Hungarian league. He began the 2014-15 season with Golden State and then signed with the Boston Celtics and played in Maine and Sioux Falls in the G-League. He then plays another season in Sioux Falls winning the G-League title and finally in 2016 signs with the Miami Heat on a three-year contract playing 162 NBA games with 112 appearances in the quintet, and 6.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest.
After the Miami experience ended, he played one year for the Los Angeles Clippers (56 games) and then three more years in Detroit, with 99 appearances on the court, 16 in the quintet, 5.5 points per game average. Since January 2024 he has been wearing the jersey of Olimpia Milano with whom he plays in Euroleague.
