Us Open, splendid Jannik Sinner: beats Daniil Medvedev and flies to semifinals

Jannik Sinner takes revenge against Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals of the Us Open. After losing in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, the world number one redeemed himself and beat the Russian in four sets with a final score of 6-2 1-6 6-1 6-4. The South Tyrolean hits his first semifinal in New York, where he will face Britain's Jack Draper, who overcame Australia's Alex De Minaur in three sets.
Rocket start for Sinner, who snatched service from Medvedev already in the third game. The azure saves two delicate counter-break points in the sixth game, repeating the break lead in the seventh (5-2), before closing on serve in the first set (6-2).
Second set from the totally opposite trend: Medvedev takes away Sinner’s serve in the second game (2-0), confirms the lead and even extends it to 5-0. The Italian managed to break the Russian’s streak of five consecutive games, who closed the second partial 6-1.
In the third set the situation is reversed again: Sinner again commands the game, è more è aggressive and often comes for the point at the net. Jannik Sinner is aiming to become the first Italian ever to win the US Open final. To do so, he will have to get past Jack Draper. The Englishman is having a sensational tournament.
