SMC Motorcycle School, the project

Passion, fun, method, safety: these are the ingredients that have always characterized the SMC Scuola Motociclismo, born in 2015 thanks to the collaboration with MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo and his father Chico with the aim of becoming a place of aggregation and growth for all motorsport enthusiasts.

A constantly evolving project that has seen champions such as Jorge Martin, Joan Mir and Tony Arbolino train on the track and that in these nine years has given rise to as many as 5 locations in Italy – Como, Vignate (Milan), Orte (Viterbo), Bari and Agrigento – with the participation of nearly 20 thousand students. Numbers destined to grow, if we consider that in the coming months è another 3 new schools are scheduled to open in Turin, Sondrio and Padua.

SMC Scuola Motociclismo welcomes students of all agesà and motorcycling levels: from the nursery of very young riders who cultivate the dream of professionalism (“pilotini” who run the Italian Velocità Junior Championship), to road bikers who want to increase their level of road safety, up to professionals (or amateurs) who want to improve technique and style to perform on the track. In SMC s’teach the most modern riding techniques with an established and easy-to-learn training method for everyone, through the use of «small-wheel» motorcycles, minimotos for children and pit bikes for adults.

A personalized growth path is defined for each student based on the goals they wish to achieve, in a professional yet familiar setting, where safety, method and technique are the foundations on which SMC Instructors work every day. After assessing the theoretical level of knowledge of a motorcycle and its safety equipment, each student è called to undergo a series of exercises to determine his or her riding level (4 levels: yellow – beginner, green – intermediate, blue – expert, black – racer), and define the development path, also in relation to his or her expectations.

The strength of SMC Scuola Motociclismo è the method (intended for asphalt motorcycling), designed to support students to ride safely and consciously, putting into practice some precise rules: learning about the motorcycle and its controls, the correct posture to keep on it and the movements to be made with every part of the body and in all phases of riding. The courses are held in facilities closed to traffic and involve the performance of specific exercises, in limited spaces and at contained speeds, where technique is trained. Repetition of these exercises helps generate automatisms and improve practice: s’learn on small bikes and replicate on large bikes, adapting the appropriate precautions of the road or track. All with the supervision of Instructors, the real added value of SMC. Motorcycle enthusiasts with backgrounds in local and national competitions, the instructors are certified by the Italian Motorcycle Federation (FMI) and live in close contact with the student in all moments of the lesson: briefing, warm-up, performance of exercises on the bike, evaluation and feedback in real time.

SMC Scuola Motociclismo offers everyone the opportunity to approach motorsport at low cost, with a variety of courses aimed at meeting the needs of the individual rider. The first step for all those who want to start a path in SMC è the first trial lesson at a cost of 120 euros (including no. 2 hours of lessons with motorcycles and instructors, rental of the safety kit – overalls with protections, helmet and gloves – and annual membership), scalable in case you then want to follow up the experience by purchasing a package of lessons, choosing from different types, from a minimum of 8 hours (4 lessons) to a maximum of 30 hours (15 lessons in total).

Roma-Juventus: Igor Tudor pampers Kenan Yildiz and makes an announcement about Cambiaso and Douglas Luiz

These are the statements made in a press conference by Juventus coach Igor Tudor on the eve of the challenge at the Stadio Olimpico against Claudio Ranieri’s Roma, valid for the 31st day of Serie A.

“I am happy with this my first full week of work. We trained on the two phases, set pieces and physical condition. I saw the boys with the desire to do well. With Roma it will be an important game, but not a decisive one. It&#8217s a difficult match against a team that is going through a very good moment of form. We, however, want to think about ourselves and try to field the things we are working on” began the Bianconeri coach.

“We have to grow game by game. I believe a lot in working during the week. A team with Juventus must be perfect from a tactical point of view, from the style of play to the structure to the defensive phase. I arrived at a rather delicate moment, but now we have picked ourselves up and started pedaling” continued the former Lazio coach.

“I have seen Kenan in five or six trainings. To be a champion you need consistency in performance and this can only be achieved with continuity, especially mental. I see a young man who is serious and focused on soccer. I urge everyone to be consistent in their growth, work and not settle. This is the key of champions: maintaining the same level of play against every team. Yildiz is young and still has a lot of work to do, but the starting point is very good” added the Croatian coach.

“Douglas Luzi and Cambiaso have only recently returned to the group, so they do not have the 90 minutes in their legs. We know that McKennie is a wild card and his pliability will be very useful to us right now. Conceiçao is a smart player and I think he can also play more centrally. He needs time to settle in that area of the field and grow, but I like his mentality and attitude of work” concluded Igor Tudor.
