Lazio, Claudio Lotito and Maurizio Sarri in chorus: “Net penalty”
Here are the statements of Lazio president Claudio Lotito and the biancoceleste coach Maurizio Sarri after the 1-0 victory against Roma in the derby of the Coppa Italia quarterfinals thanks to a penalty by Zaccagni.
Claudio Lotito: ”I stand on behalf of the club with the knowledge that we absolutely deserved the victory. Boskov once said ‘penalty è when referee whistles’. Following VAR intervention Orsato whistled the penalty on an unconscionable foul. The performance è was worthy of the result. We found a group that played and brought home the victory”.
“È changed the awareness within the group of their own means and roles. There’è been a period of adjustment. È a determined, compact, united and strong-willed group. We have the knowledge that we have deservedly won and that we have charted a path of perspective for this young group”.
“We all win together and we all lose together. The victories are also contributed by the fans, the doctors, the warehouse workers and everyone involved in the project. Everyone has to work in unison. We have given great satisfaction to the fans. The fans are being fans and supporting the team with genuine feelings”.
Maurizio Sarri: “For the image I saw the penalty è clear. A clean hit, without even going near the ball. So much so that Orsato there è remained 8 seconds at the monitor. Però the episode interests me to a certain extent. Excluding 3-4 minutes in the recovery, Roma’s goal balls were zero. The 20 minutes after the goal è a blasphemy not to have doubled. On the overall level, the ’1-0 is not è legitimate but è narrow”.
“The performance dà satisfaction. The Italian Cup qualification did not matter to me. In the derby, the three points in the league don’t count either. These games should be played for the people who live for you, for them. So we are happy to have given joy to the Lazio people. Then to spend a birthday night having lost a derby was sad. How do I celebrate? I enjoy it, even by myself. Have I found Lazio again? Right now sì but every now and then this team has different moments”.

MotoGp, Jorge Martin: comes the'latest green light from doctors

Jorge Martin can finally make his debut on’Aprilia and in the MotoGP World Championship after missing the first races due to injury. Doctors have given the go-ahead for his return to the track, ruling him fit to compete in practice and the Qatar Grand Prix.
The reigning world champion will take to the track Friday on the No. 1 Aprilia for the first time in an official test since the disastrous crashes that caused him some fractures in winter testing and in training.
Martin’s goal is to adapt as soon as possible to the new bike in order to have his say over the course of the season, although the train for the World Championship seems to have now departed, given the current pace and superiority of the Ducatis and in particular Marc Marquez, Pecco Bagnaia and Alex Marquez.
Martin won the 2024 World Championship with the Ducati’s satellite Pramac team bike, bending Bagnaia.

Scaroni irritates Milan fans: “Season not so bad”

A.C. Milan president Paolo Scaroni has angered Rossoneri fans on social media for words spoken during an event at San Siro organized by the newspaper Il Foglio: “I do not feel I can say that the season is just totally negative, I remember that we won the Italian Super Cup”.
“The fans are the focus of our attention, it is so important to have them by our side even in such a difficult season like this. They are showing resilience, putting up with the team even when performances are not brilliant”.
The market moves: “Being active in the market is one thing, then being successful is another. Some of the signings we have made have been great successes, becoming long-term Milan players with very good performances. Whereas other signings have been less successful, certainly Morata was not a great operation for so many reasons. Reijnders and Pulisic in particular have had consistently very good returns, then Leao excites everyone”.
“We intend to continue this policy of ours of being active especially on young people, so we will continue to strengthen the team. Furlani is in charge of that first of all, then there’s also Ibrahimovic along with our whole team. We would like to have a great season next year. Zlatan is an added value for Milan and for RedBird, he is a RedBird consultant loaned to Milan”.
