Marc Marquez now demands justice

The words of Marc Marquez

Marc Marquez had his say after what happened on Saturday at the Red Bull Ring: “It was an interesting Sprint, when I tested the new aerodynamics yesterday I knew more or less what was going to happen in the sprint – and it did. So, in a way, it was good to understand this new aerodynamic package better. We worked with many different setups over the weekend, but we have a clear idea of what to do tomorrow. We benefited a lot from other people’s crashes, we have to be honest. Without these incidents we would have been more or less in 15th position. Let’s keep working and see what we can achieve in tomorrow’s race.”

Closing remark on what happened to Jorge Martin: “I knew he would take a risk and he did. He saw a gap and pushed some riders away. For me, these are things that happen in the race, the only thing I say is that there has to be the same yardstick for everyone. The new aerodynamics? It is a reaction, at least it shows something. If you suffer and don’t feel anything the whole time, then it’s more frustrating, but at least you see a reaction and you have more motivation to adapt your driving style. Yesterday we were up until the wee hours of the morning looking at telemetry to see how I could improve.”

Valentino Rossi certainly did not hide his disappointment after the MotoGp sprint race in Austria that saw his team’s two riders, Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini, retire, the former due to a crash in the very early stages and the latter due to contact mid-race.

The main target of criticism was the common denominator of the two contacts, Jorge Martin: “He started off very charged because he hadn’t set a time in qualifying, he knew he had to take the first few corners like crazy – said the ‘Doctor’ -. But he went in a little too crazy, came in strong and touched Quartararo: that’s when the carom started and the others fell too.”

“For me it’s simple,” Rossi added, “you have to give a long lap penalty right away. The second crash? Martin overtook in a difficult spot, he wanted to make a decisive entry that, however, leads you to touch the opponent. Luca did not want to cross, for me Jorge also gave him another push.”

In addition to the Ducati Pramac rider, Valentino also criticized the race direction, “They seem to me to be decisive in things that matter little, less so in the important things like a rider second in the world championship who comes to the first corner too strong and throws everyone on the ground.”

All-U.S. semifinal at US Open

Another big man exits the tournament. After the various Alcaraz and Djokovic, Zverev è is also no longer in the running at the US Open. The German è was beaten by Fritz in four sets (7-6 (2) 3-6 6-4 7-6), at the end of a match that è lasted almost three and a half hours. A defeat that leaves a lot of bitterness in Zverev’s mouth. The German was aiming to reach at least the final.

A feat for the American who, dragged by the home crowd, won the first semifinal of a Slam event. After winning the first set on tie-break, Fritz suffered the return of Zverev, who took home the second partial with a peremptory 6-3. The momentum seemed to be in the German’s hands but Fritz escaped on 3-0. Zverev recovers but gives up at the più beautiful. Spectacular fourth set. Zverev tries everything but, once again, the tie-break costs him dearly. He loses it 7-3 and says goodbye to the tournament.

Dreams big for Fritz who, in the semifinals, will face the other American Tiafoe who, in the quarterfinals, wins the match with Dimitrov, forced to retire in the fourth set due to a physical problem: 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, 4-1 the partials in favor of Tiafoe.

The United States dreams, after 21 years (Roddick, 2003), of an American winning the U.S. Open. In the meantime, it enjoys Sinner who, thanks to Zverev &egrave’s knockout; increasingly serene in his comfortable position as world No. 1.
