Wilfried Gnonto, Italy gets further away.
Wilfried Gnonto stays away from the A Series.
The relegation of Leeds, the club where he played last season, and rumors that he was being approached by Serie A clubs such as Torino and, to a lesser extent, Juventus, do not seem to have changed much in the plans of Wilfried Gnonto, who is aiming to play in the Premier League again in 2023/24.
According to reports from ‘Sportmediaset,’ Everton is still interested in the performance of the 2003 class, but does not want to go beyond the offer of 18 million euros, plus 6 in bonuses, promised to Leeds in recent days. In this sense, Aston Villa is back to hope: the Birmingham club would have initiated contacts with the young player’s entourage, in order to convince him to accept wearing the Villans’ uniform instead of the Toffees’.
Gnonto, born in Verbania on November 5, 2003, grew up at Inter Milan but has never played an official Serie A match. In 2020, in fact, the Nerazzurri sold him to Zurich, Switzerland, where he managed to establish himself to such an extent that he won a permanent place on the national team.
In summer 2022, the move to Leeds: 24 appearances and 2 goals in the Premier League, with convincing performances but not enough to avoid relegation for the Peacocks, who returned to the Championship after three seasons in the top flight. Gnonto, to date, is one of four players to have played for the Italian national team without playing in Serie A: the others are Marco Verratti, Vincenzo Grifo and Mateo Retegui, although the latter is very close to wearing the jersey of a club in Italy’s top division, Genoa.

Juventus, Thiago Motta now wants to raise the bar
A tie that allows us to frame the work to be done.
Juventus no longer full points in Serie A, after the 0-0 home draw with Roma. A match and a result that Thiago Motta carefully analyzed at the end of the day, framing the team’s goals and the work the Bianconeri have to do in the coming weeks with the soccer market now definitely closed.
“In the first half we were too low, also because of Roma,” Thiago Motta explained to ‘Sky Sport’ -In the second half we grew, but there are still many aspects on which we have to improve to raise our level when we play matches like this. The team però me è liked it all, both those who è started from the first minute and those who è took over”.
“The match è was balanced, but in the first half at times Roma è was superior to us. Therefore, the result è was fair, but we have the quality to grow – assured Thiago Motta -. Especially in terms of our accuracy. It is valid for Vlahovic, but the speech è the same for all the members of the team”.
And now Juventus, according to its coach, must think week by week. “Our next goal must be to give our best against Empoli, and then do the same against PSV and whoever we face next. The season will be very long, it will be a beautiful journey for us. To better define our goals we will have to see where we will be when the most important months of the season” begin, Thiago Motta sentenced.

Mercedes celebrates Monza: “Goosebumps.”
An unstoppable celebration that left even those who were not part of it stunned.
Monza celebrated Charles Leclerc and Ferrari on an unforgettable Sunday for Italian motorsport fans. The Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix d’Italia greeted the Cavallino's return to victory in its home round of the world championship, with the fans of the Rossa making the winner and the Maranello team feel all their passion. A passion that però affected everyone who was at the Autodromo, including Mercedes’s eternal rivals.
It was precisely the Anglo-German team that wanted to emphasize it on their social media, in a post in which they immortalized the podium at Monza with the red tide that poured onto the straight of the Brianza facility to greet the feat of Leclerc, first across the finish line ahead of the McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. “No matter what your team, no matter what your country. This è every time goose bumps. Best wishes to our friends and rivals at Ferrari”, reads the official Mercedes accounts.
Lewis Hamilton himself, at the last Italian Grand Prix under the Mercedes banner, wanted to extol Monza: “For the first time I noticed that the Ferrari fans were looking at me with different eyes. It è seemed to me that they wanted to connect with me. They were dressed in red, as they always are, but this time it was different. I found it already very, very interesting”.
“To have seen a Ferrari success today è it was fantastic, I imagine what emotions Leclerc experienced – Hamilton added to ‘Sky Sport’ -. To win on this circuit è always crazy, but I think racing there next year will be really incredible. I could see that all weekend, ever since the Drivers Parade”.

An indomitable Spezia and Juve Stabia top B with Pisa
There’è big crowd at the top.
Serie B definitely crowded at the very top of the standings after Sunday’s matches. The most important step è that taken by Spezia, which, thanks to a 2-1 home win over Cesena, hangs on to the leader Pisa on 8 points. Same haul as Juve Stabia, which makes 0-0 in Frosinone and remains among the teams at the top of the cadetteria. Up goes Mantova, which forces Salernitana to a new knockout.
Spezia’s victory is also particularly important for the way it accrues: in the lead Cesena already led at 5′ the hosts reversed their fortunes in the final game. Soleri in fact equalized at 84’84’, Bertola signed the success when even è passed the tenth minute of recovery.
Instead, it ends 0-0 in Frosinone, where Juve Stabia does not take advantage of the numerical advantage that came about at 53′ for the direct red against Cichella. Then at 83’83’, Folino was also sent off for the Campani. Salernitana defeated instead in Mantua: it ends 1-0 with Galuppini’s goal at 46′, Virgilians at -1 from the group of the first in the standings.
Palermo remains lagging behind, forced into a home comeback by Cosenza: it ends 1-1, Fumagalli (40′) is answered by Di Mariano at 80’80’. On the other hand, Catanzaro got unblocked, which against Carrarese found its first win of the season: Biasci, Iemmello and Pontisso signed the 3-1, with Bouah scoring for the guests with the goal of the momentary tie.
