Manchester City, champion of Europe: how many regrets have Inter Milan?

Inter’s dream was shattered by Manchester City in the final. The Nerazzurri were defeated 1-0 by the City in Istanbul.

There are many regrets from Simone Inzaghi’s team. They did not deterrit at all, but were sunk in the 68th minutes by Rodri. The Nerazzurri lost the match due to the errors made by Lautaro and Lukaku in front of goal. Ederson then did well against Gosens.

The Citizens complete the “Treble” and win their first Champions League, equalling Mancnester 1998/1999.

Manchester City was better than Inter at the start, but the Nerazzurri did not create much in attack: Barella’s shot, after a poor pass from Ederson in the 27th, went high over the crossbar.

City responded in the 28th with Haaland’s shot, which Onana blocked, and a moment later with De Bruyne. Guardiola’s team has a half-hour tegola: De Bruyne, who had a muscle injury, is forced to leave the field. Foden takes his place. The Belgian was cursed, as he had already been sacked in the Champions League Final against Chelsea two year ago.

In the second period, the canvas is the same as it was at the beginning: Manchester City’s possession of the ball increases, but Onana does not create any real danger. In the 56th, an exhausted Dzeko asks for a change. Romelu is brought on.

In the 59th, Lautaro Martinez has a golden opportunity: after an error by Akanji the Toro is face-to-face Ederson, but lacks the lucidity to shoot at the Brazilian goalkeeper rather than pass it to the free Lukaku. It’s the match’s first Nerazzurri goal ball.

Manchester City increased its pressure, crushed Inter on its own turf and took the lead at the 68th-minute mark: after an insistent attack by Guardiola’s squad, Bernardo Silva was able to serve Rodri, who struck flatly, leaving Onana with no chance.

Inter’s reaction was vehement. But Inzaghi’s side is unlucky. In the 70th minute, Dimarco hit the crossbar with a head, and then, at the moment the rebound occurred, with the goal left unguarded he unluckily struck Lukaku who was in front him and couldn’t get away in time.

Inter is forced to reveal itself, while Manchester City’s counterattack threatens to be very bad: Foden, with a great move, finds himself in front Of Onana in the 77th, but wastes it all by kicking weakly. Inzaghi’s side fails to maintain its offensive actions and exposes the flank of the English, who aim to deliver a knockout blow.

Ederson blocks Lukaku’s header in the 88th-minute. The Brazilian goalkeeper then denied Gosens’ equalizing goal. The triple whistle was greeted with jubilation by the crowd.

All-U.S. semifinal at US Open

Another big man exits the tournament. After the various Alcaraz and Djokovic, Zverev è is also no longer in the running at the US Open. The German è was beaten by Fritz in four sets (7-6 (2) 3-6 6-4 7-6), at the end of a match that è lasted almost three and a half hours. A defeat that leaves a lot of bitterness in Zverev’s mouth. The German was aiming to reach at least the final.

A feat for the American who, dragged by the home crowd, won the first semifinal of a Slam event. After winning the first set on tie-break, Fritz suffered the return of Zverev, who took home the second partial with a peremptory 6-3. The momentum seemed to be in the German’s hands but Fritz escaped on 3-0. Zverev recovers but gives up at the più beautiful. Spectacular fourth set. Zverev tries everything but, once again, the tie-break costs him dearly. He loses it 7-3 and says goodbye to the tournament.

Dreams big for Fritz who, in the semifinals, will face the other American Tiafoe who, in the quarterfinals, wins the match with Dimitrov, forced to retire in the fourth set due to a physical problem: 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, 4-1 the partials in favor of Tiafoe.

The United States dreams, after 21 years (Roddick, 2003), of an American winning the U.S. Open. In the meantime, it enjoys Sinner who, thanks to Zverev &egrave’s knockout; increasingly serene in his comfortable position as world No. 1.
