Two goals to center the second place, and one win to welcome Serie A with a high-headed salute.

Lazio is second in the standings after the championship. Cremonese are relegated, but with honor. The grigiorossi won the home match against Salernitana and the biancocelesti won the away match at Empoli. Both matches ended with a score of 2-0.

Lazio, who needs to win in Empoli to overtake Inter to return to second place, started off strong. After two minutes Vicario faced Luis Alberto. Then Pedro, Patric, and Immobile all tried to score, but the blue goalkeeper was able to respond well. Romagnoli scored the Capitolini’s first goal in the second half, 48 minutes after the start of the second period. He made the most of a Luis Alberto cross. Milinkovic Savic and Immobile came close to doubling their goals, but in the final minutes it was Cambiaghi that came close to equalizing just seconds before he was sent off. Luis Alberto scored the final goal on a counterattack as time expired.

The challenge in Cremona, on the other hand struggles to get off the ground. The match is lit up in the 26th minutes when Bohinen commits an foul in the box against Buonaiuto. The Var confirms it’s a penalty and Buonaiuto turns it in himself. Ghiglione was close to doubling his score after Ochoa’s slackness, but Tsadjout found him in the 88th with a great left footed shot. Var saved Salernitana from a penalty that could have halved the gap. The Campani finished 15th but safe in the standings. The final position was the same as 1999, but fifteenth place in standings meant relegation into B.
