Raz Hershko brings Israel to a triumphant end in the Tel Aviv Grand Slam.

Tel Aviv, Israel’s beautiful city, hosted the final day of a Grand Slam Judo competition.
In the +78kg final, Raz Hershko was a showman in the preliminary rounds before he defeated Kayra Sayit of Turkey.
Today was her big day, as she had never won gold on home soil before! The crowd got what they wanted, a gold finish to a three-day feast of Judo. Hershko was surrounded by the next generation Israeli judokas as they celebrated.
Lior Raz, Ambassador of the IJF, was present to award her the gold medal.
“A-A-Mazing! “Wow!” she exclaimed. It’s crazy, it’s amazing. I love competing at home with all of this amazing crowd. “They are cheering from the beginning to the end. They pick you up, and it’s fantastic.”
Gviniashvili continues his dominance
Beka Gviniashvili and Krisztian toth, both from Georgia, hugged each other before the match. The Georgian then dominated their rivalry and won gold in a convincing manner. They then showed their respect again at the end of their contest.
The medals were presented by Mr Moris Janahsvili, a guest of the IJF.
Alice Bellandi, the world master at -78kg, won gold again by defeating Madeleine Malonga from France. This is her fourth World Judo Tour Gold medal in only a few short months! She is dominating in her new weight class.
Vladimir Barta, IJF’s Head Sport Director, presented her with her medals.
Zelym Kotsoiev, a judo master from Azerbaijan, defeated Michael Korrel of the Netherlands at -100kg with this amazing judo.
Lisa Allan, IJF Events director, presented him with his medal.
“I love fighting in Israel,” he replied. It’s a great atmosphere with so many kids cheering. “The people here love Judo, it’s very energising”.
Tsetsentsengel’s heavyweight victory
At +100kg, Mongolia’s Odkhuu tsetsentsengel increased his grand slam gold tally to three after a hard-fought win over Azerbaijani Ushangi Kokauri.
Florin Daniel Lascau, IJF Director of Referees, was the recipient of the medals.
The home crowd was awestruck by their heroes and cheered them on from the start. Peter Paltchik, who had one of the most exciting contests of the competition, had the crowd on their feet. Even though he didn’t win a medal for the day, he epitomized the energy and excitement surrounding the future of Israeli Judo and how brightly the judo stars here shine.

Vincenz Candela still dreams of Antonio Conte at Roma

Vincent Candela spoke to the microphones of Radio Manà Manà Sport Roma: “The most beautiful derby is the 5-1, in the second half I enjoyed the whole show. However, I also lost 4 derbies in one year, it was not easy. It’s a special challenge, if you win it, it gives you a lot of charge for later matches as well. Sunday is a decisive derby.”
“Roma struggled with Juve, but comes from a positive streak. There is still hope for Champions. Lazio is doing well in Europe and won in Bergamo. I am happy with Saelemaekers return, he was decisive in the first leg and I would still bet on him. On paper Roma is favored, but the derby is a special match.”
“What profile of coach would I see well at Roma? I would like Antonio Conte. He brings up young people, has character and is a winner. He would be the top. There is also Allegri, but my name is Conte.”
He closed on Hummels: “He’s a champion and even champions make mistakes. With his experience he could have made a difference for two more years. Criticism is part of our business.”

Frederic Vasseur heralds the redemption of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur spoke ahead of the upcoming Formula 1 race in which Lewis Hamilton and Charles Lleclerc are expected to redeem themselves: “The fact that the fourth race of the season is being held in Bahrain gives us the opportunity to measure the progress we have made in the management of the SF-25 compared to the tests of a month and a half ago”.
“We know that we still lack performance to be able to contend with McLaren, and we believe that we need to make progress especially in terms of optimizing the car”.
“It is on this aspect that we will focus in Sakhir, also with the support of those who work in the factory in Maranello. We have to take care of all phases of the weekend in the smallest detail, knowing that even a tenth of a gain can mean staying ahead of some of our rivals both on Saturday in qualifying and on Sunday in the race.”

Arrigo Sacchi pushes Simone Inzaghi’s Inter towards Triplete

Arrigo Sacchi commented in the Gazzetta dello Sport on Inter’s victory: “An Italian-style feat. In the sense that it was achieved with effort, with suffering, with strenuous defense and with quick and deadly counterattacks. Of course, in this victory of Inter in Munich there is something of our past, I can not deny it, but I can not refrain from congratulating the Nerazzurri who gave their souls to achieve a result that, in my opinion, is well deserved. I admired a generous team, Simone Inzaghi’s team, a team that was clear about what it wanted to do and did it. I prefer it when you play a little bit forward, when you try to attack the opponent, however, you also have to take into account the strength of your rivals and, consequently, adapt to who you have in front of you.
“Inter have shown that they have a very solid system, then you can raise or lower the center of gravity of the team, but the important thing is to have a basic strength that makes the whole architecture stand up. After Bayern’s equalizer we could have expected a defense of the equalizer, but instead I saw the Nerazzurri throw themselves forward and build the action of the second goal. This means that the Inter players do not lack courage and neither do they lack ideas. The triumph in the Champions League, especially after this success that boosts the self-esteem of the whole environment, is now possible: maybe we have to try to come up with something more in terms of play, but I am convinced that, on this aspect, Simone Inzaghi will work in the coming days. Looking ahead to the return match at the San Siro, the accumulated advantage is considerable: the Nerazzurri will be fine with two results out of three, not bad.
“One cannot ask the impossible of her: if it comes, one must only bow and applaud. However, I still think that Inter has something more and is favored to win the Scudetto. In addition, there is the Coppa Italia. After the 1-1 draw in the first leg, there is the return derby to be played and the Nerazzurri have a chance to overtake Conceiçao’s Milan, which is already thinking (at least at the managerial level) about next season. Inzaghi’s boys are aiming for the Triplete and they can do it: it would be a sensational feat. Of course, now we need to gather all the energies and have the wisdom to channel them match by match, dosing the commitment of the various performers. It is the group, at this moment, that can make the difference. And Inter has the group. A strong group, technically and physically, and very experienced. These are values that on the field are noticeable and weigh a lot”.
